I received the first two sets of the mech depot from Locker Toys. It’s amazing. I cannot wait for the other sets to come in to build an awesome base.
I love the customization of it. I hope they sell individual walls and etc to expand. It’s a great system. I feel bad as I really wanted to go nuts with the Complex building system from Ragingspoon, but this is cheaper and better looking. :( I live supporting the little guy/independent businesses, but this is a better bang for your buck. I will end up spending more and duplicates of the 5 sets I think. The 3 level sets look great. I can see adding small LED lights to these sets to really make them pop. Picked up the Modern Russian set... they’re great.. what I’ve always wanted really, some faceless grunts that hold a pose really well (they have alt heads generally similar to the ww2 Americans in style, but maybe with a little Russian mischief in their expressian).
Note that to get a better kneeling pose you’ll have to take off the lower utility belt. But yeah, just another great set. This is the only set I’ve had a design issue with since the first wave from 3 years ago. They don’t pose with their weapons as well as the other figures in their line, but it isn’t terrible. It’s great to have some ‘generic’ figures. |

The 3 packs are about $10 cheaper and I think the mech bases are about $10 cheaper as well. Individual figures are 3-5 bucks cheaper than BBTS. I’ve ordered in a Thursday night and had them on Sunday with their shipping. Generally though it’s about 4 days from ordering to receiving. I’m shocked how fast it comes. Also forgot: if anyone else has these sets, please post your creations! I would love to see how people are building their bases. Even my wife jumped into it and was helping me build the layouts.

Those open ceiling pieces are begging for some LED + diffuser love. That hallway could also use some LEDs or backlighting to really up it's visual look. Last edited by Bujo; 04-26-2021 at 09:22 PM.. |

Goddamn, that's some serious Splinter Cell level spy moves.
I can't support your love for Volkswagen, but that's a really nice display of cars in the background. Those open ceiling pieces are begging for some LED + diffuser love. That hallway could also use some LEDs or backlighting to really up it's visual look. Next up is either a M2 or RS3 if I can ever bring myself to get rid of my R32... My wife wants a TTS, so that may be the next one as it’s her turn for a new car. On topic, yes. Looking forward to the rest of the sections and then lighting them up. |

That is some serious dedication. I grew up In MOPAR family, so I've always been about American muscle cars. I did do a fun custom job 20 years ago where we turned a junker of a VW Beetle into a pretty slick 4x4. That might be a bit of a heresy.
Did anyone else see pics of a new base section, looks like a command/monitoring center? Not the meeting room. |
