I just received one of these today. Saw it on Ebay, picked one up for the hell of it - it looked neat and might make a cool dio piece. I think it cost me about $16 and was new, unopened. I'll do a walk-thru for anyone that might find this as neat as I do. Data-Viper will assist.
It's sizeable. It's actually meant to be a part of another much larger staged rocket launch system - I think that part runs around the $60-70 mark, but after picking the satellite up... I might need to get that. DV is channeling his inner Slim Pickens here. The rear stage is only really useful in connecting to the aforementioned rocket system. (Playmobil doesn't seem to name their stuff in the brochures, just gives them numbers. The satellite is #6197; the rocket is #6195.) The nose cone pops off to reveal the sensor array and weapons system. Yes, this baby is armed with four meteoroid-busting rockets. No idea what the payload or armament is, nor do I understand the laser part. I'm assuming the laser is for guidance to assure the rockets hit their target. Rear view of the main thruster. While I didn't take any pictures of them, this set also comes with a rocket fire attachment, a meteoroid that explodes, and a Playmobil astronaut. All very nice features, but I will not likely use them. The solar array opens up neatly, revealing some cool details, the individual spring-loaded launch triggers, and an umbilical attachment for the astronaut that folds up and tucks inside. Here is the umbilical raised out of its compartment. And here it is stuck on DV's head. ...And here's DV in need of some medical assistance after taking a spring-loaded meteoroid busting shot to the jewels. I never had the Defiant or any of the other space Joe stuff as a kid, though I wish I had. There also happens to be a shuttle (#6196) that looks pretty sweet as well, so this may be a more affordable substitute if anyone else is looking for a space launch system for their Joes.

I've seen the space sets before, but wasn't sure how they scaled with Joes. I didn't realize how cool that satellite looks in full bloom. Like all it really needs are a few Cobra stickers and it's ready to threaten the world.

Add some Cobra decals and it would make an awesome Cobra satellite.

Here's a picture of the space stuff from the insert flyer:
I'm really impressed by a lot of the Playmobil stuff. While most vehicles aren't really realistic enough or have enough leg room for modern Joes, a lot of the other stuff is perfect. I've been buying up lots of second-hand accessories from Ebay. And yeah, this would definitely look sick with some Cobra decals and lettering, and even some weathering paint apps.
