I'm pretty sure that truck won't hold 1:18 figures. For one thing, it's Matchbox and I don't know of any time Matchbox made 1:18 plastic toys. I'm not a toy expert, so maybe they have. But to me, that's clue #1 that this will be undersized for Joes. The other clues are the sizes of the sounds/lights button and the hinges. If this thing is 1:18 then the button for lights and sounds is almost as large as a figure stand. The hings would likewise have to be as thick as a Joe's leg. I think both of those sizes are unlikely.
If I had to put money on a size for this thing I would have to wager it's for 2.5" figures.

There a pictures of kids playing with them on the links I posted earlier. They look bigger than 2.5" scale.
They could be "Avatar" 3.75" scale, which would suck, yeah, since those figures are tiny. |

I'm not vetting people's claims so I just assume he said this correctly. If so, then there is mixed messaging coming from Mattel which is another reason (combined with the physical characteristics I mentioned) that I had/have suspicions that this is not going to be Joe-scaled. Further, why would they specify that it holds "non-articulated" figures? Will it literally not be able to accommodate articulated ones for some reason? If so, for what reason? I dunno. Quote:

I'll be happy for you guys if I'm wrong about the size of this truck, though. I took a trip offsite to jurassicoutpost.com to see what I could see. I took a photo that had both the truck AND a figure in it (though not close to one another) and I upscaled the figure by reference point (measured the size of the mirror compared to the length of the figure's leg and made that approximately the same for the pasted-in figure) and this is the relative scale I am estimating: So it looks like it's definitely larger than 2.5" scale. Still probably too small for Joes if these figures are literally 3.75" figures.

Aw, smurf. I just saw what you meant about the MRAP having no cab. The front half of the truck opens up and the ball rolls out. It is not equipped for a driver or TC. Whose bright idea was that?
I saw the picture on jurassicoutpost.com and I assumed it was the rear of the vehicle. I can't conceive of what they were thinking. I'm not even going to bother trying to mod it. Hard pass. Last edited by solosam; 03-09-2018 at 10:29 PM.. |

The Matchbox Jurassic World 2 vehicles are 1:18, as pictured for the Jeep below. Why would they have opening doors, unless you can put figures in them. They're designed to fit with the 3.75" figures Mattel is releasing. Whether or not those 3.75" figures are Joe-sized or smaller like other brnads is the question I suppose. Modern Joes seem to scale on the large size of 1:18.

I've heard April 16 floated around a few times.
The jeep is available for pre-order on Amazon Canada. https://www.amazon.ca/Matchbox-Juras...jurassic+world |
