Yeah I have the set and the figures are cool. Not as articulated as the bigger humans but cool anyway. Comes with a cool frying pan too.

Cool, thank you guys for the info. And while I was browsing, this is the other set I was referring to earlier, with the pickup/merc/raptor:
https://www.target.com/p/jurassic-wo...27#lnk=sametab Site shows $32.99. I was pretty sure the shelf label said $29.99, but who knows if it was correct or if it was referring to another assortment.

If you buy it in the physical store, it can be cheaper. Target does that a lot. Dreadnoughtus is the same, in store it's cheaper. |

I was able to pick up that Kitchen Encounter set this evening after work. Amusingly, it was available at the location closest to me which I shop at almost weekly. I must have gotten so used to seeing that set that I stopped paying attention to it.
On a side note, I'm not terribly impressed with most of the super-articulated Hammond Collection figures and have no interest in most of them. I'll pick up Arnold eventually because his basic figure didn't ever seem to go to retail, but beyond that I just prefer the aesthetics of the basic figures. Not just the proportions or how the joints are worked into the design, but even the facial likenesses on the basic figures seem better to me. And I feel that the basic figures have "good enough" articulation. I do like some of the secondary options on some of the Hammond figures, though; I finally paid attention to the alternate arms included with Ellie and got a laugh once I realized what scene they were referencing. Still not motivated to actually buy her even at ~$4, though. I might eventually just out of pity. Man, there are a lot of her at my local Targets. Did they overproduce her to make up for her basic figure being kinda scarce a few years ago? Maybe the same reason she was repacked in with Hammond in that other Target set?

I got it for 20 months ago before they raised the prices. It is a ok set especially for the figures you get. Wish the raptor was Hammond and the kitchen had some removeable dio stuff. Especially now for the price it is.

I was at Target a couple days ago and swung by the clearance rack to see if those Ellies were still there; every last one was gone. I wonder if they sold or if they're making their way to a Ross or some such. I had actually decided I was going to grab one just for the hell of it (at only $4, why not?) but I guess not.
Random question: you guys remember those original characters Kenner created back in the 90s? Does Mattel have the rights to create original characters like those? Or, God forbid, would they have the rights to those Kenner characters? I remember thinking back in the 90s that most of those characters were dumb as hell--why create new characters when there were so many from the movie/book they hadn't made yet?--but in recent years I've found them somewhat charming. If Mattel did new versions in 3.75", or paid tribute to them in some way, I'd be so down for that. Oh, and I also went back and grabbed an Arnold figure. I wasn't too enthusiastic about paying the $15, but now that I have it, man, I love it. This thing's great. Only complaint is that the waist rotation is pretty stiff (it does also have ab rocker and crunch movement which work just fine though) and there's no knee swivel due to the double-jointed construction, nor is there a thigh swivel.

Mattel doesn't have rights to molds by Hasbro. There was one exception. When Hasbro ended its Batman license and Mattel got it, Hasbro gave Mattel the Wayne Manner molds. So while currently Mattel doesn't have access it can't really be impossible but highly unlikely
