Well, if 3.75" were selling, they wouldn't be making this "crap" instead. Companies tend to continue producing things that sell and to discontinue things that don't.
I don't think you folks realize how young the average age of kids into action figures has skewed. They're also just not as into toys as we were. They've too many other cool distractions. We wanted our toys to be as detailed as possible, and the older we got, the more detailed we wanted them, but for kids today they're just toys. The're going to either lose interest and move onto the next hot thing or outgrow them in a year or two anyway, so there isn't the level of interest sustained over years like back in the day. Parents especially aren't going to pay "super-articulated" prices for something the kid won't give a shit about in a couple of months. I hate to say it, but toys are disposable now and the price-point has to come down to those expectations. Plus, the younger the kid, the more articulation and small accessories are seen as liabilities. I'm honestly surprised Wal-Mart and Target even sell toys any more. I suspect in the next few years we'll see shrinking toy sections and perhaps a few high-profile toy company deaths. |

I loved Joe, TF, X-MEn , He-Man , A-Team , Stompers, Blacstar, Warlord, Dungeons and Dragons, MASK, GO Bots, Silver Hawks, Thundercats, Nintendo , VEtrex and quite a few more toy lines. The toy line i ended up sticking with ..? GI Joe and ...Remco US Forces (joe knock offs) solely because of how they "moved". There are other factors that are relevant when determining why a child keeps interest in a toy or not but pose ability was definitely a factor in my childhood. Swivel biceps and ball jointed hips make a major difference. I can imagine i would have stayed with other action fgure lies in the 80's if the figures had more poseability (i'm looking at you He-Man and MASK). |

All I know is, my son was an outlier even with his friends. Sooner than I expected, they suddenly didn't want to play with his toys when they came over. The writing was on the wall. It broke my heart a bit when the day came there wasn't a single action figure on my son's b-day list. Not that I mind he's done with action figures (although I feel he's too young to be out of toys), but it's just another sign of his growing up. |

Let me show you guys something.
https://seekingalpha.com/article/409...ownward-spiral Bad right? And yet many of their ridiculous companies survive. If they can survive, your traditional toys can transfer to being e-tailers. The problem is. . . . .they haven't. |

I cannot stand seeing those Marvel 'Titan Heroes.' It's like someone said, "Let's just make the cheapest, shittiest toy we possibly can." Even when I was a kid, I despised 5-POA. And I go to the store and I see HUGE amounts of shelf space devoted to these pieces of crap.
But, as has been mentioned, the fact that there are so many of them implies that someone out there is buying the damned things. I don't understand. And I don't mind the rest of those Black Panther toys (I got the Civil War figure, which is all I need) but damn that transforming panther thing is beyond pathetic. Funny thing is that I've actually been warming up to 5POA figures the last few years. Possibly because I've been branching out to more and more lines as Joe fizzles out, and the more I'm exposed to them the more I'm beginning to see their merits. Especially as rising costs for advanced figures reveal how spoiled many of us were in years past without us realizing it.
