Me too. It took him a couple of days to answer my first email and originally he answered that the basic figure was $29 US but he would not know how much shipping was unless he had my actual address. So, immediately I replied with my mailing address info asking for shipping cost and expressed that I could pay by PayPal as soon as he responded.
I waited another two days with no response, then I emailed him again requesting the shipping quote. A day later he sent this response: hello female body is no available now. You need to wait until about July, We will only contact you for payment after the completion of production, Since there are many uncertainties, we don't need to pay the deposit. now we will just record your needs and contact you only after the production is completed。 So, like you mentioned, I'm guessing it will take him until July to build the figures. From the pictures I've seen, he had tons of parts and there's no way he built and sold out of those figures this quick. He's clearly an artist, with his skills all on the design side, and not surprisingly he seemed to have got overwhelmed with the inevitable challenges of the sourcing and manufacturing process. So I don't get why he decided to give out his email and get into the weeds of direct-to-customer communication and sales. Retail sales and customer service just adds a whole other level of complexity and inevitable frustration. Seems to me he ought to go in the opposite direction and partner up with an existing toy company that can handle and smooth out the actual toymaking process from manufacturing to sales and customer service. It reminds me of Acid Rain, which is another artist-led, single-person-driven effort. The creator there originally partnered with a former colleague in a tiny company (Oritoy), and for years they struggled with getting a good rate of production. Finally, he partnered up with a bigger toy company (Toys Alliance) and product has since been coming out at a higher cadence. Finding a good fit with business partners is hard, but with the quality, extensive range and overall positive fan reaction to the Planet Green Valley prototypes revealed so far, I'd have to think there'd be many toy companies interested in partnering up on these. If this line has a future, which it absolutely should based on what's on offer, I'd have to think this is the route this will eventually go. |

I kinda feel like motions have been made in that direction simply by BossFight pre-ordering his product. It shows that they at least have talked, imho. I'd bet money they hooked him up with the Gawrych (sp?) guy that got all the other boutique lines on track and I can't fathom why Wei would say no to that guy's help.

I received an email from Locker Toys wanting me to confirm my mailing address for the pre-ordered Mind Controller. Now, all I have to do is wait for Virginie.
Hopefully, Locker Toys at least breaks even with all of the extra shipping costs from having to piecemeal shipping orders. Jason |

I wanted to share that I had a positive experience ordering directly from Weiwei. We went back and forth via email for about a month as we waited for one of the figures was ready before I Xoomed him funds on 6/30. Shipping was $41. I received my four figures on the 8th so I was impressed with the speed of shipping. It was definately worthwhile.

Got my shipping notice from Locker Toys for the Mind Controller figure. I am hoping that the Virginie figure is ready by the end of summer.

I received my Mind Controller figure yesterday. Very nice! Articulation is great. Paint apps are perfect. One thing I haven't seen mentioned (maybe I've just missed it), but the figure DOES come with a hose that connects the helmet to the backpack. It's not packed in the blister tray. It's in a little ziplock baggie at the bottom of the blister tucked into the instructions paper.
