The major concern is cost. Larger vehicles are not selling as much as smaller vehicles. so if we put everything into scale perspective, than most of the airplanes will sell very slow, and for the kid like me loves airplane would never going to get airplanes robot, its because too expensive for the parent. Hasbro make sure kids can get different types of robots, and also they can maximize their profits, so they made different scales for different vehicles. Otherwise, I would be stuck with bumblebee and arcee. I think this question brought up to Hasbro as one point and the answer as I just described above.

Well I can tell you for a fact that the scale would work. I spent a good part of a year working on growing my Bumblebee and he stands just over 10 inches, 2 inches bigger than the Human Alliance. And to prove my point, here are a couple of pics I took back in October:
As for the bigger vehicles, cap it off no bigger than 2ft in bot mode. That should cover Prime and Megatron. If they can make those stomp toys about this scale, then there should be no reason to make the human alliance figures the same scale. Personally, I don't think they had the guts to try and see if they would sell. I know we had asked them to look into this ever since the last movie came out and they keep dodging the statement. How many more kit bashes and engineering by the fans will it take to prove that this scale will work for the Transformers?

Do I need to whip out the picture of Grapple driving inside of Huffer while being twice the size of Tracks? Just to remind you, toy wise, Grapple and Tracks are the same size (Diaclone car size), and Huffer is a Minibot (penny racer size, from the Micro Change line). |

Chromia is all over the place here. The new Arcee isn't out yet. I have the 2007 Arcee in that last pic.

I think 1:18 scale Transformers are totally sellable if Hasbro hypes the fact that people will be getting something with two forms and can hold GI Joes. It has multiple play features for the kids, and collecters have Joes and 'bots that look good throwing down together.

Maybe I was just lacking in imagination as a kid or my suspension-of-disbelief setting was set to "low" by default but the inconsistent scaling with the Transformers toys really bugged me when I was little.
It doesn't bother me now, though (more because I don't really care for Transformers toys these days than a change in my attitudes toward toy scaling), and if kids like them with all the different "Classes," more power to them and Hasbro. Still, if Hasbro ever made consistently scaled Transformers toys, maybe in 1:64 scale (Hotwheels/Matchbox size) to cut down on plastic production and storage/shipping concerns, I'd be all over them, especially since they'd probably look great with relatively cheap and easy to find pre-existing 1:64 scale vehicles and environments. |

While we're on that subject of scale, it was very disturbing doing Joe vs Transformers with the joes being taller than bumblebee, and just a bit smaller than Starscream. That is why we now have Masterpiece transformers! Still not in my prefered scale, but usable. I hated also how blaster was bigger than soundwave, Galvatron was bigger than Rodimus, Dino's were taller than constructicons, and Megs was bigger than optimus. I know why, but I don't like it.
