I have been researching about Chap Mei's Soldier Force and as far as I have seen there is no enemy for them to fight. The line seems to be filled only with military good forces presumably American special forces but I still have not seen any toy in the line tagged as "enemy".
Am I missing anything? I purchased my first vehicle from the line and my vintage Joes fit very well on it (even better than the figure included) and I would like to incorporate them as part of my universe as a team of their own but I would like to have some context to start and maybe knowing what or who they fight would help. |

I don't think the military line ever had any enemies. There were BAD GUYS (criminal) who went against Chap Mei's old cops line. That was years ago.

They fight against the forces of Capitalist Imperialism, Western Hegemony, and Articulation.

I hate when a figure line is all heroes and no villains. Always a downer. It would be nice if someone made a line of cheap (but good!) villain figures to use with lines like these. Corps villains would probably be the best match for these, but their roster is kind of limited at the moment.

Well, true heroes/soldier force is more of a vehicle supplement line that's suitable for kids. A lot of marketing people (read: corporate bosses) are very much against putting clear cut enemies/ villians into toys aimed at children because even something as innocuous as Cobra from Gi Joe etc, actually have roots in various prejudices and real world problems. (Cobra is a facismile of fasciscm and the Klu Klux Klan yeah?)
That' probably the reason why you only see allied or non enemy troops for Chap mei stuff as it's still primarily supposed to be aimed at 5-8 year olds. If they had included an enemy, it would have been something extremely over the top evil or fantastic that no one would be offended like "The environment" or "I want to nuke the world MUWAHAHAHAHA" so they probably gave up. |

Honestly, the Chap Mei stuff we get (don't know about the rest of the world) doesn't have much thought behind it beyond providing retailers with cost-effective toys. When re-branding it as a store line, the retailer may try to flesh it out a bit (like TRU, with "Sentinel 1") but I don't think Chap Mei with "Soldier Force" or MotorMax with "Battle Zone" or BBI with "Elite Force" or M&C with "PTE/World Peacekeepers" are overly interested in creating an intricate world and backstory with villains and high concepts. It's more like, "Here are a bunch of low-cost/high-margin military toys, Mr. Retailer. You can buy them ready-made with our brand name or we'll even work with you on packaging design & slap a brand name of your choice on 'em. Either way, we don't care." They're not selling a concept, like G.I. Joe, they're just selling toys.
