Those were called clown arounds, and yeah they are pretty scare these days. So are Eagle Force, SGT Rock, Sky Commandos, Starcom, Clash of the Titans, Battle Beasts, Dungeons and Dragons, Crystar, and pretty much anything made by mego and remco.

You refering to the Kevin Costner Robin Hood movie? If so those are pretty cool, I have all 8 figs carded, not really worth much, but still cool, one of the last Kenner toy lines, they used old starwars playsets like the ewok village, and a gamorrean guard to make friar tuck.

Anyone remember M.A.C. (I believe it stood for Mobile Action Command). They were maybe 2.5" tall figures with mostly rescue, some military themed vehicles.

its funny, alot of the 80's stuff is coming back around and the only people interested are the ones who had the stuff when they were kids. toys in the 80's got kids of their ass and got them using their imaginations. today if it aint xbox or ps3 most kids wont even look at it. kind of sad. hell my own daughter would rather play wii or watch icarly than ride her bike!!

I had a lot of Starriors growing up, including that cobra-headed battle station. I'd love it if some Japanese toy company reproduced it. I remember they were out the same time as the first wave of Transformers. I also remember the Marvel comic mini-series actually being quite good.
I had some Blackstar action figures, too. It is amusing to me now to think of the money I spent on those when I could have been adding vintage Joes to my arsenal.

Blackstar characters joined my Masters of the Universe playtime.
Neptul (I had two) became Mer-Man's henchmen. Gargo (the orange vampire guy) was another of Skeletor's creatures. Overlord and Kadray...I don't remember. Blackstar became one of He-Man's accomplices. Warlock the dragon (I had the green one) became a "sonic dragon" that would attack Castle Greyskull and instead of breathing fire, it blasted sonic booms from its mouth to shatter the walls. I had several of the little alien demons and also the Lava Loc which became a monster Skeletor conjured. I also combined Thundercats with He-Man as well. They just landed on Eternia instead of Third Earth pursued by the Mutants. Skeletor conjured up Mumm-Ra as an ancient demon to help him battle He-Man. I had all of the first wave of characters: Lion-O, Mumm-Ra, Panthro, Tygra (the first skinnier one), Cheetara (she and Tygra came with the unarticulated Wily Kat and Kit) and Ssslithe, Monkian and Jackalman.
