I was looking forward to the Animated wave with Arcee and Soundblaster/Ratbat more than any Transformers in a long time, and now they're canned it in favor of the Movie product, which is nice but I have no interest in.
Even worse, it looks like Animated might be cancelled entirely. And many people are figuring a Movie-inspired show might take its place. Yuck! The Movie universe is a cancer. Hasbro will no doubt play up "brand unity" and other such corporate garbage.

Imagine that.. Hasbro giving someone the shaft. That's about par for the course. Maybe Hasbro should rename the company to Shaftsters!

Wow...at least G.I. Joe fans have the possibility of the movie line failing still there to make Hasbro's decision to pursue it "not the best." It hasn't proven itself with the brand yet.
But Transformers fans have nothing. The last movie made Transformers the biggest boys' toy brand for that year. Where Transformers is concerned, the business model is proven. Hasbro would be foolish not to pursue it again. Most likely these Animated toys have run into the same problem the 25th Anniversary line most likely did: The major retailers decided to cancel their orders because they have too much backstock of previous waves. Don't be so quick to blame Hasbro for things that the retailers have more control over. And remember: If Hasbro made a new mold for it, they'll find some way to use it. No doubt about it. |

Hasbro both of your toy movies are crap.
In the long run nobody really cares.

Realistic Alt Modes (this is key to me for TFs) ~ even better, they were licensed real world alt modes. Complex and Interesting Transformations Great Articulation a cool gimmick that enhanced the toys (some of the automorphs were shockingly cool, like how Ironhides legs unwrapped as he changed) ...and it lead to us getting more Classics because retailers didn't feel strongly about Animated and wanted "real" vehicles because of how well the Movie line sold. the Armada line had horribly simplistic Transformations, tonka-looking vehicles, melted wax headsculpts, G1-level articulation and gimmicks that Hamstrung the figures: Coming off of the genius of RiD it was just embarrassing.
