Updating when there is nothing to update would just get them flooded with angry emails and demands for refunds. It would have the opposite, anti-reassuring effect.
A lot of these Kickstarters from that time were completely naive. People were just showing up with a project, having no prior experience working with Chinese factories and it turned into a living nightmare for them. I didn't back this project, but I hope they can navigate their way through. |

Dude that’s all there is without updates. People saying at this point refund the money. I will agree though that a past due kick is a no win situation.

At this point they need to give an update to prove they haven't taken the money and run.

I'm typically patient when it comes to KS campaigns and even I posted on the Hell Screamerz campaign recently to ask what's up and to see if I can get a refund.
The expectation that backers should have to search around a Facebook group for updates is unacceptable; I didn't make my purchase through Facebook, I shouldn't have to look for updates there. To keep blaming COVID while other campaigns have either ramped back up or started shipping out is a hard pill to swallow. They seemed to have had no problem getting their Steel Kaiju created and sold. I can understand getting annoyed as a creator by constant requests for updates. That said, people wouldn't have to ask if "you" would provide them. |

I'm with you on this. There used to be updates and things seemed to be going quite well. But this Covid situation is no longer and excuse since China is back on track.
Plus besides all of this they seem to be loosing their momentum and that's not good. They had their campaign funded but what will be the future? They put out the figures and ends there? If they continue like this, it's what will happen. Even Eagle Force with all the the problems they have, they managed to get back in track and they provide frequent updates. Covid situation delayed them a bit but I'm sure they will fulfill early next year judging from the photos and progress.

Is there even somewhere on Facebook that they're posting updates? The Sunok Studios page hasn't had a post since August 2019.
I don't think we're asking for much. I just want a "hey we're alive and still going to deliver eventually" post. |

They released an update today and not good news. Nothing will be even closely ready before mid of next year I would say. Judging that only significant news will come after chinese New Year (February next year), and then start to work things out and so on. TO be honest if I don't like the update in February I will try to get my money back.

The longer this takes the more foolish I'm feeling for having purchased additional figures (the purple and orange ones) after the Kickstarter. I tried to go to the Sunok Studios website and found that it's down now. I also tried searching my email for some kind of receipt for the additional purchase but am not finding anything there.

While some good has come out of crowdfunding, the system overall is driven primarily on coercing buyers to surrender their rights.
It's not retail. Do not chip in any more than you are willing to lose. If anyone on Kickstarter tries to make you feel bad about not giving them a larger risk-free loan... F 'em. F 'em so hard. |
