A while back I noticed the post that the BBI Elite figures would be returning to Target. I guessed I missed the fact that the HIND helicopter would be part of the lineup. Today at work I stumbled across another thread where photos of this chopper could be seen. Of course I quickly went out and purchased one.
Since the release of the Oktober Guard and the OG Attack Helicopter at Joe Con a few years back I’ve been looking for a suitable HIND. I wasn’t a fan of the Con helicopter nor the price. In my search I have seen many auctions for the original release of the BBI HIND but wasn’t willing to pay that cost for the quality that BBI produces. So color me happy when I was able to pick up this chopper today at Target. However, I did notice the posts in the other thread that complained about the seemingly dual seated cockpit canopy that opened to a single seat for a pilot only. This seems to be the major grump (and perhaps the color). I don’t mind the color. Is it as cool as the original BBI HIND color scheme….or the Con OG attack chopper? No. However, it DOES match the uniform color of most of the Oktober Guard figures from the Con set to a certain degree. Slap some cobrastickers.com Oktober Guard decals on that thing and go! For those that complain about the cockpit, I offer you photos of what I thought would be my Oktober Guard HIND. I found this chopper at Roses, a discount store found in the south-east (I haven’t seen it anywhere else). Sorry, I don’t know the name of the company that produces it…but I promise it is not something you have heard of before. I had planned to do some considerable customization to it. The only upshot to this thing is that it DOES fit two figures in the cockpit with the dual-bubble canopy. Sitting side by side with the BBI HIND though makes you realize that the BBI version isn’t so bad….I’m so happy to have it.

Nice. I wonder how hard it would be to attach the cockpit from the green chopper to the BBI one?

It does hold one figure. It will hold a modern era Joe just fine.

I just purchased the BBi Hind tonight. It is the same length as the Eaglehawk. Now it's not as wide, but it will hold one pilot and four passengers and had this cool mini-gun in the back.
So, the BBi Hind is right in line with the scale of other Joe vehicles. I'm pretty sure with a little customizing you can sit two figures in the cockpit. At least that is my goal. So far my plans for customizing this are: 1. Make cockpit a two seater 2. Paint the cockpit canopy 3. Change out the rotor with 1 from the Eaglehawk 4. Possibly move the wings down lower which might force me to: 5. Cut the cargo door in half 6. And I may even look into making part of the Eaglehawk rear (cargo) seating work in the Hind. 7. Finally a custom paint/wash and Oktober Guard stickers. Jason |

Interesting....I did not know that was chap mei. I remember purchasing it and looking all over the packaging for a brand name that I recognize. I do not remember what the brand was, but I would have recognized chap mei.

I just looked up ''Roses'' and apparently they trade under a variety of names. Google ''Roses Stores'' and you should find a store locator.
