Well as a kid I had a little bit of everything but as an adult I only been collecting since the 25th line started as i was a big joe fan as a kid I never was into buying toys before that
And once I was in, it was strictly modem era joes for me There have been times that I seen sum Transformer remakes of the old guys and I was intrigued but my loyalty to joe would not allow me to spend money on a different property for sum reason Well today I walked in TRU and wow the display they had for these things blew me awAy I walk up and see this prime that really caught my eye as he reminded me a lot of the OG version with a new twist And looked at good scale to display with my joes He was the last one and I couldn't walk away Now I just hope I don't dive deep into these things Lol I highly doubt it here's a pic of what I got

I just got into Transformers too, I tried to stick to 1 line but when the Masterpiece Soundwave came out I had to get it. Other than the Masterpiece Optimus Prime that just came out I this is the only other Optimus I have. I only buy them if I like them in both modes. You should get the Hound, it's a really good figure.

Hey that's kool I'm not alone lol
It's funny cus that's why I liked this Optimus he looked good in both modes and even tho he's new and has no trailer he really reminded me of the OG and gave me that feeling of nostalgia I also had like two other shoppers just waiting for me to put him down and that really made me feel like I gotta have him lol Paying 25 for a Toy hurt tho as I'm use to my joe priced figs

Also, if you're moved by nostalgia, do NOT look into the Masterpiece line. It's way too late for me, but at least you still have a chance. |

I started collecting Transformers in the mid-2000s. Started with Classics and Alternators. Collected through the first two movies (or so) and got into some of the Masterpiece figures as well.
Stopped collecting them around 2011 or so. Their prices were getting too out of my range. When I started, the Deluxe figures were only $9.99, which is what Joes are at now. Now a deluxe TF is $15-$17. That's what a friggin' Voyager used to be. I've heard the price on MP figures continues to rise, and I just can't help being glad I got out of it all. As of right now, the only Transformers stuff I still collect is the Kreon minifigures. Doesn't feel too bad only paying $3 for a figure, and a $10 or $12 set comes with 3 or 4 figures. Though, I will admit that every time I go down the toy aisle I eyeball that Voyager Hound and Grimlock.

If they made a sound wave or megatron in this price range I might get another but for now prime will be the only Transformer to live amongst my joes
