I'm looking to pick up a few four-inch WWII figures. (In particular, 101st Airborne). Would be great if they look good next to ME Joe figures.
Anyone have any insight on the best ones out there, and what makes them the best? Thanks! |

They all have the fatal t-crotch flaw. Most will be gimped in other areas, too.
21st Century Toys did a couple of sets of 101st figures, one in jump gear and another depicting Operation Market Garden. Very generously accessorized. Bbi also did One-Hunned-and-Worst (as well as 82nd Airborne) figures, in on-foot and jump varieties, with the jump varieties coming in permanently attached and detachable parachute harnesses. Dragon's are oddly proportioned and mostly static. The limbs are interchangeable, but their accessories are second to none in the scale. Their helmets are removable, but some of them plug into the head as opposed to just sitting on like an actual helmet. Odd stuff on that one. Another thing to mention is that the pistol belts on these come off. Makes WWIIing your Joes very much possible. There are others, but those 3 did actual 101st figures. Bbi is probably gonna be the best bet, with on-par or better sculptural detail to Hasbro. Teika is worth mentioning. Their early war Germans are hitting preorder, and while they aren't detailed like Bbi's they're articulated like Joes. If they can actually get some Yanks done then look out.
