about a year ago i had to mvoe my stuff in storage at my dads so i have his spare room there filled with my toy collection. i have tons of sealed gi joes, other stuff and alot of misc mcfarlane toys. one thing i noticed today while going through it is tons of his toys the plastic has YELLOWED!!! badly it looks like these toys sat in a smokers house but they havent. i bought these toys right off the shipping truck 10 years ago when i worked at kb toys. my kiss psycho circus figures the plastic bubble is turning yellow on all those, my rob zombie yellow, my terminators and movie mania i think there called with freddy kreugar those are all yellowing. everything else like gi joe in the box is fine. its just mcfarlane. does anyone else have this problem? is this common with his stuff? are they just packaged with a crappy plastic? this has to affect the resale value i imagine. i saved all these toys taking extreme care of them just for them to fall apart like this is a complete bummer. at this rate maybe i should just off them off now and get what i can

Did they see any time displayed in the sun? UV rays are generally the cause for a yellowing bubble. I suppose McFarlane could have used a cheaper plastic than most.
There's a limited market for the majority of the older McFarlane figures. You were probably looking at an uphill battle selling them off any way. |

The old Toy Biz Marvel figures do this pretty bad, too. probably cheap plastic. Me and my freind are non-smokers. I've only got two carded, but he's got like, 100 or so. Most of them aren't worth anythign, but it looks pretty bad.

Yeah, it's the cheap plastic. It will yellow over no matter what in the end. You can attempt to avoid it, but there is always some degree of yellowing.

they never saw sunlight, i put blankets over the window in the room they were in to make sure of it and were prob only on display a year total out of the past like 10 years ive had them. i have stuff thats alot older that was out more and havent changed a bit. it seems like its kind of hit and miss with the plastic sometimes theres bad batches of yellowing ones. just seems like the mcfarlanes yellow alot easier.

It is just the McFarlane toys packaging, almost all older Sportspics figures are having the same problem.

My brother in law gave me a Red Riding Hood figure tht had been stored away in a box for years and it was a cracked broken yellow mess... their packaging just didn't seem to age well no matter where you stored it

you know what really sucks is i have a kiss set (besides the other kiss set i talked about) this one came in a rare white shipping box as like a box set but at work they said to open it and sell all 4 because thats what it was suppose to be like and i said heck with that im going to buy the whole box and keep it sealed so i did. not many have it like that unless they bought it right off the truck. sad to see that end up yellowing
