I picked up Wolverine and Iron Man. Might buy a few more or call it quits with these 2. They're okay, the right hip joints on both figures are somewhat loose for some reason. The parts swapping works well as the sockets are hard plastic and the pegs seem to be made of a durable material. The lack of a torso swivel and bicep swivels hurt these figures the most. Each time I posted them I was tempted to have them swiveled at the torso as if to punch or slash but there's no joint to enable that. I found it odd that the legs are much more articulated than the arms. Why?
I think the target demographic is toddlers; these, stylistically are similar to the "Marvel Heroes" that Hasbro caters towards little kids. The small Imaginext-like figures. The parts-swapping is fun and had Iron Assemblers been made this way I would've been all over it. The parts swapping and full articulation(though there really ought to have been more) is fun but I can see how the fun can dry up fast if you are an older collector. FWIW, if you are into this line or are interested, at Target I did see some of these with coupons already attached to their packages. |
