Someone recently posted some questions about the Flying Fighters planes, as he had gotten some off eBay. I remembered I had these, so I snapped some quick photos of two that I have.
These were AMAZING as a kid, I loved the details, the 'action sounds' joystick was neat too. These came out in the late 80's (I was around 8-9 years old), so I got to play "TOP GUN" every day! Enjoy! The Awesome F-15. Would love one of these in 1:18! Some of the planes came with a scratch off game, if you matched all 4 boxes you could win a trip to Washington D.C. to ride in a REAL fighter plane! (I never won.) The planes came with a lifesize replica patch of whatever Squadron the plane was assigned to. Ahh the venerable F-14. My FAAAVVVOOORRRIIITEEE plane as a kid. Hands down. Makes me want to go play volleyball just thinking about it ;) More in next post.

Sun Downers!!
This also came with the planes, a 'signed' photo of all the active pilots. And a really cool history.. back of box...

Oh wow I haven't seen these in years! I had the F-14, except I remember the one I had having the Jolly Roger decals.
Definitely one of my favorite toys. Last edited by CallMeRotten; 04-09-2009 at 01:11 AM.. |

I still think the 80's had the best toys.

Haha, was just wondering about these. A memory popped up of me wanting these but never being able to get them. So checked google, and found a link elsewhere back to here. I seem to recall each aircraft had 2 different squadron themes. The F-18 I wanted was from the Marines Black Knights squadron (same that Will Smith flew for in Independance Day lol). So there was probably another F-14 in Jolly Rogers colors.
Ahhh memories. |
