So I was thinking of adding some starwars vehicles to my collection. I have lots of modern figures mainly the ones with new articulation. I dont really have many vehicles right now just a lone jedi star fighter (modern).
While i really like the new big stuff the truth is its really BIG and very expensive IMO. Thus I was looking at some of the POTF stuff. I wanted some opinions on these toys as to if there a good options. the things I am most intrested in is X wing, TIE advanced ATAT Falcon Snow Speeder. For the falcon I was considering the 2004 version with lights and sounds. The new BIG falcon is just too big I wouldnt know where to put it and its like 200 dollars thanks for the info starwars experts!

they ar all good but there are better/bigger options out there for the X-Wing.although it may be more expensive.I have 2 POTF2 X-Wings and the FX version(with fixed luke)
the smaller AT AT from 98 is still a GREAT toy.I still have mine displayed even though I picked up the bigger one.the new one is just a thing of beauty though. but man the big Millenium Falcon is something I cant recommened strongly enough.....just effin awesome. I have 2 POTF Snowspeeders and never have seen the need to update them.greatness. |

i have all of them- i got them rather cheap at BBTS a few years back (2007-2008) and they are reasonably good for display purposes.
i'd say get them if you don't want the extra gimmicks that the newer versions have; like a firing grapple gun on the snowspeeder or a removable ejection seat in the TIE Advanced. as much as i love the AT-AT all around, get the Big AT-AT. display it on the floor next to a shelf (that's what i did) and take advantage of all of it's possibilities. the PotF AT-AT is good, but pales in comparison. the only reason to have both is to give a display a sense of depth. The PotF Falcon is pretty sweet, too. and yeah, the BMF is huge and heavy, so it's okay to stick with the smaller one. One last tip: even if uou get MISB/MIB vehicles, the stickers may not be in the best shape due to age. i have had to touch up my stickers with clear nail polish to keep them in place. like the striping on the X-wing's nose was curling at the ends, things like that. it's no big deal to fix that if it does happen.

It's all about whatever you're satisfied with.
Personally? I think the newest incarnation of the Snowspeeder is one of the best Star Wars toys put out this past decade. More accurate scale (which actually makes it SMALLER than the PotF2 Snowspeeders), and just the right blend of screen-accuracy with play features. Seriously, it's a great toy. Though may be pricier on the secondary market than the PotF2 versions (which are perfectly servicable). |
