Do they ever dig deep in their back catalogue and re-release their old sculpts? I know some of the current figs are repaints from the wave right before it but is there any chance that something like repaints of the 2005 figures that MagicWazard found would ever hit the shelves again? I've missed a LOT of Corps! figures.

Lanard is a company that is big on giving a lot for a decent price. My best bit of advice to those who are missing older stuff is to pull our resources and get a pot going for the annual lanard warehouse sale.

From what I have read about their sale, they never know what will be in the containers they get from China for their sale. Sometimes it's stuff from the last few years and other times it's o ring stuff from 20 yrs ago. Apparently they have a ton of old stock sitting in China. I would love to go eventually as I love their o ring stuff and their t crotch figures, although I prefer the o rings.

Who has volunteered to purchase and ship items purchased at the Lanard warehouse sale? I vaguely recall the "Joe A Day" guy going but not offering to pick up items ( not that he is requred to do so).

I organized during Joe Con 2009 a special warehouse event that they set up just for us and took a handful of fans out there with me. I go to the sale most years although have long since gotten my fill of the normal stuff they have, but go just to see if they have a new repaint, any long lost 80s finds shipped over (like white APCs from their Starforce line), and have scored some good stuff. Getting it and boxing it is a pain in the ass as this stuff can be big, and bulky, and opening it takes a lot of time to do and rebox.
I have talked to several of their people since I started going in 2000 or so, and that is exactly right. They never know exactly what they are going to get, this is a bulk buy, cheap, and whatever gets shipped gets shipped, leftovers are moved into storage and mixed with the next year's shipment, and all is sold during the Xmas sale with proceeds going to a charity called Sugar Kids there in the city Sugar Creek, MO they are based in. |
