I'm not going to defend Walter... but I think all he said is corporate speak for this: Walmart, and any other store that used to carry Lanard products, don't want to carry them anymore and if they do, it is in such a limited capacity (e.g. the holiday 4-packs) that Lanard have finally decided to stop the contracts, because they don't make sense.

I think the most frustrating thing is that took so many years for Lanard to realize this. I understand that their business model was tied to retailer distribution, and as a small company, they didn't wanted to pivot. But they seem to have realized that they can make-do in the international market, which DOES wants it products, and then offer direct-to-consumer in the US since no retailer here wants to (seriously) carry Lanard products.

It is an overall trend of military action figures. Lanard should have tried before the direct-to-consumer approach. Chap Mei is another company which has not tried this, and you can barely find it in stores anymore. PTE at least still can be found through Amazon, but it doesn't exist in physical stores.

The Corps! was still on shelves in 2019 at Walmart along with Jumanji. Even with the decrease, products went out globally, And revisions on existing contracts that were hindering growth were revised this past fall. direct Online sales solutions are being put into place to bring entire assortments to domestic consumers, this is a process that will not exclude existing partnerships, the goal is to bring more products and more ways to bring larger products in the ever-changing retail marketplace. Positive changes are already well underway!

Yeah I agree completely. Originally it was Covid and lockdown, now contracts. I really did want a Willie, but companies like JoyToy and Toy Alliance have far exceeded anything Lanard can offer. When one has to dirty themselves going to Ollie's to get a toy, one is being redic.
