i've been eyeing the mechanical armed corps guys for the mechanical arm. just the arm. i dont care about anything else about them and im not going to chase them all over creation.
if i dont see them at walmart or ollies, im not getting them; because i forget about them until i see a picture of them in a facebook group. Again, this is just the arm. like the space force figures, i bought just for the leg devices and parts i dremeled from their arms and turned into gauntlets. |

Anyone remember those figures that target had years ago? They are corps like but more detailed. Not the elite force guys.

A Direct Sales model is in the works to increase product assortment availability. This will not affect retail contracts, as assortments per retailers will vary.
That's not "gaslighting" or any of the terms that get thrown around here. Its business, and domestic sales changed drastically as Toys r Us KB toys and kmart were all major accounts. Not just for Lanard but for most toy companies, with those accounts gone the retail space for products tightened up and has caused significant changes on domestic sales. Online sales have become more and more commonplace. All these changes to bring more available products couldn't move forward till the contracts were adjusted, revised and finalized. That thankfully was completed last year before the holiday season began. Several sets were offered to begin multiple retailer sales and more sets have been ordered. Which includes Amazon, Walmart dot com, Macy's just to name a few. Quote:
The loss of TRU and KB Toys mainly hurt the large toy manufacturers that rely on big box retail stores as the primary customer. The loss of shelf space from those stores closing has been replaced with the internet by orders of magnitude. It's what's lead to the democrization of toy making that we see today. It's never been easier to get ideas turned into physical toys and sold to the public than today, and so many hobbyists-turned-professionals and new companies have been doing just that. It's why more toys are available now than when TRU was at its peak. It's been fascinating to watch as new companies pop up with new IP or licensed obscure IPs, do gang busters in sales which brings more product to market. Meanwhile, the large manufacturers are so slow in their response to the changing market because they can't stop quibbling over inches of shelf space, nor adjust their business model due to the weight of their own overhead and bureaucracy.

im going to south flawduh today, i should see if there's an ollies there. - nevermind. the one "on the way" is an hour out of the way.
last weekend for the same trip cost me 1000 bucks emergency money, and that was with everything planned in advance. im pretty much wiped out this week, so i cant risk another grand just for discount toys at a discount retailer. Last edited by THEDARKONE508; 02-21-2023 at 10:53 AM.. |

This is an interesting thing, it is true that we are seeing more indie toys than before. But it is also true that the loss of Toysrus and KB Toys made other stores (Walmart, Target, Big Lots, etc.) reduce their toy space or if not then, their variety. Every time I see the action figure aisle, and thank God there's still one at Walmart, is all crammed with different sort of action figures, no more than 3-4 different action figures from same line. In Toysrus, when I was a kid at least, there were three aisles of action figures, and at least half an aisle was GI Joe 1:18, another half an aisle GI Joe 1:6. KB Toys store where obviously much smaller but I do remember seeing a large variety of PTE, Gi Joes and Lanard. I have never seeing such a variety of toy selection IN-STORE again after the loss of KBToys and TRU.
It's that time of the year again. I gotta start looking for planter pots as well. |
