The capsule is an old mold and was made for the o-ring astronaut figures (see here JoMi toys: S.T.A.R. Force 1998 Space Capsule). As such, o-ring figures fit right at home, while for the included figure you have to bend his legs together to fit him. The figure is pretty good, probably one of the few I like of the modern Lanard sculpt, but o-rings beat them here indeed.

Walter, I have a question about the Solar X Rocket (https://youtu.be/S9SUI5AULsU?t=114, there was a post here too but can't find it) that you posted some time ago. From the pictures, it looks like a new toy, as what you showed is a render. Is it a new toy?
Knowing Lanard, and the desire to reuse everything, the only similar rocket I found is the booster for the space shuttle that came on the old Star Force line (see here: JoMi toys: S.T.A.R. Force Complete Launch Set). Now, there is very little information about this Solar X Rocket (mostly for sure vaporware) but I also noticed this post: https://www.hisstank.com/forum/5500152-post5040.html From here you tease the Solar X Rocket comes with MORE THAN SHOWN. Am I mistaken, or is Lanard trying to re-release the whole Space Shuttle? If so, that would be fantastic. I got the capsule and I'm happy with it, but the Space Shuttle is a great alternative for those of us who can't/don't want to afford a GI JOE Defiant or even the Crusader. The Solar X Rocket is in its final phase of development, along with several all-new sets, as soon as the new sets are cleared and allowed to be shown. I'll post them cross platform for everyone to see. For more info on all CORPS! Products https://linktr.ee/TheCorpsUniverse

Never owned that capsule. Had the "rare" Star Force APC at one point. JoMi toys: S.T.A.R. Force 1998 Mobile Ground Support
I recall never finding the army one at retail. Also, remember when Star Force was everywhere. You could army build them in the hundreds if you wanted! |

I drove a little further out to another OSJL and found more, but still no big bug or space ship, the 2 I really want. There was an end cap of the military stuff, so I snagged a tiny gray tank that may have been the worst $10 I've ever spent. They had the military line single figures, tanks and planes that Zorman showed in his pics. I finally got the single carded space bug dudes, and the jumanji Hippo I didn't know existed. There is a rhino on the back I didn't know about either. I mainly just like nicely done animal figures, i guess. Still looking for the big bug and big space ship.

@Sean_C The S.T.A.R Force Mobile Ground Transport wasn't a rare variant. It was sold and obtained quite easily throughout the S.T.A.R. Force run. *Kmart, Walmart, ToysRUs, KB toys all had the mobile transport unit. Back then you could have even found it at eckerds of course there were several boxed set variations some included extra vehicles or extra Star Force Astronauts, the eckerds sets usually were just the vehicle with an included figure.
The Corps! World Force sets of the apc were found at Kmart Walmart and several other retail partners including JCPenney. There was indeed a rare set from 1996 though, Which is the Galactic Force set. *See Attached picture The final retail version of the Mobile Transport Unit for The Corps! Was offered during the Commando Force Era and was primarily sold at Walmart, Kmart, Toys R Us, Fred's, and KB toys. ** See attachment For more info on all CORPS! (Corps) box around 1987 and never seeing them in person until the early 90's where they were yellow with camo. |

I saw Lanard toys almost on every store I went when I was a kid, and specially Star Force and The Corps. I didn't live in the continental U.S. when I was a kid, and we had local discount department store chain that carried big Lanard and GI Joe selections. I got to see all of them in person, the capsule, the APC, the Rover and even the space shuttle! Never had one though. I remember seeing the Corps version of the APC, as well as one of the tanks... and I did see the Star Force figures 3-packs, they could definitely be army builded in large quantities for cheap. I also remember Chap Mei Space Quest on one of the local discount stores, and they carried a big selection of it. I even saw, for a short period of time, the Lanard Construction Corps figures (and regret not asking my parents for a couple of them, they had great 1/18 accessories). The 90s and early 2000s were also good years for action figures. Last edited by zorman; 01-23-2023 at 09:51 AM.. |

You guys remember those Lanard construction figures and sets? I wish they would make them again too so I could get some of the cool accessories.
