Xbox and Playstation are competitors who both make good products. Playstation isn't trying to rip off xbox and vice versa. Toyota isn't trying to rip off Nissan's cars. Lanard doesn't really hold a candle to the stuff Hasbro puts out even nowadays and hasbro has items on the shelf. Not really a comparison. Other companies have stuff like it out but it is obvious when Lanard released the corps they where directly trying to be like G.I Joe. right down to having a ninja in the group.
Quote:
Shadowninja, I'm really going to enjoy the reactions this year. The fact is now Lanard has moved the Corps! Line away from joe, the upcoming products that are all new will excite 1:18 fans.
And no this isn't like the "for use with" sets of old, I'm really looking forward to everyone's reactions. I know, you'll all wait and see, and as stated before, the schedule is on point, new products will hit stores and online this spring. And to be fair, There are multiple toy companies doing dart guns. Hasbro didn't invent dart guns. I can go back again to the 80s and galoob made a "for use with" line called golden girls that were compatible with she-ra. Tonka had go bots which were imported machine robo at the time of Hasbro importing takara transforming robots.....yes, the 80s were a free for all. I do find it funny that many fans forget how many companies had the same kind of products out at the same time. Has retail changed? Yes. Mego was Huge in the 70s and 80s and they had Ideal and kenner directly producing comparable lines. That's like comparing Apple to Microsoft Both do electronics, and each have supporters. Or xbox vs Playstation... Or comparing Nissan to Toyota, both make cars. For more info on all CORPS! Gijoe ripped off the 1980/81 Eagle force line by Mego...right down to a "barefoot judo expert", a ninja, an African American doc, and more. Hell Hasbro ripped off spirit from Eagle Force and the look of the v2 snake eyes.

I'd hardly call Quick Kick a judo expert. Of the 7 martial arts Quick Kick studied six were striking arts, and he doesn't even wear a gi. That's totally different and original compared to Eagle Force.

Not saying your wrong tkprime (it's still possible someone ripped-off of someone), but according to megomuseum.com: The figures debut was at the 1982 Toyfair, Mego's catalog theme that year was "Soar with the Eagles", it was obvious they had high hopes for the line . Many people inside Mego thought the line was a gamble, Mego had mounting debt and Eagle Force was expensive to produce.

AWOL The Eagle Force line debuted in 1980, it lasted till 82. Yes Mego did have plans in place for a second series but mego hit financial issues, I'm fully aware and if you go through Kirchner's notes on Eagle Force you can see a lot of his art was "borrowed" by Hasbro.
Hell mego's Eagle Force even had wild bill..... The 80s saw a lot of companies competing with "for use with" lines. Mattel Motu had Remco's Warlord Mattel she-ra has galoob's golden girl line Remco had the karate kid Which Lanard did several Ninja, Karate, Kung fu lines that sold right beside it. Hasbro even did a Ninja line that no one remembers but...You know me, I remember. Remco had Sgt Rock vs The Bad guys The bad guys emblem was a cobra! Remco was selling us forces, American Defense, commando force and more all while gijoe was going on, hell the remco guys even spoofed tiger Force with a tiger claw figure. The Reason lanard gets the grief was simple When The Gung Ho line debuted the Artwork was painted, and was on par with Hasbro's joe art. That's it, the name was changed from Gung Ho to The Corps! The art remained especially on the cardbacks. But over time The Corps! Differentiated themselves from a simple look a like. Action Rescue, Construction were both Original lines that were not like anything gijoe did. Quote:
Lanard has largely stayed the little Walmart GI Joe knock off brand recycling stuff for years on end. I?m always eager to see what different companies bring to the table, but it feels like a LOT of the stuff is about 5 years too late. Especially with Hasbro dragging the GI Joe fandom (kicking and screaming) into the 6? arena. Has there been a lighter amount of products lately? Yes partly due to confidential contracts, the pandemic, factory closures in China, and backlogs at both international and domestic ports. Lanard is a smaller company than many here realize. But lanard products are not the simple "for use with" brands they once were, Now the Corps! Product line stands on it's own merits. Some here are always going to only see lanard as a "for use with" line and that's fine, let's see how everyone feels after the new assortments debut and hit domestic retailers and e-commerce sites later this year. I cannot wait to hear everyone's reactions. Especially when they see what's All New and not "recycled" For more info on all CORPS! which one is lanard? xbox or playstation? i know that if i want a game for either i dont have to order it from fucking australia. i can walk into walmart and buy it. calling lanard "great value gijoe" is even a compliment. walmart doesnt have any problem keeping it's house brand on the shelves; where lanard has to go to boutique websites and over seas sales. Eagle force did not debut in 1980! It was in development in 1980, it hit shelves in 1982 the same time Joe did, it also died in 1982. The second wave was planned but Mego was a defunct before 1982 ended. jeez you want to be the eagle force “expert “ too get it right. Joe was in development as early as 79, so probably some company espionage going on (like your always talking about how Lanard has to keep everything a secret like they are freaking Disney)

Eagle force had its major sales push debut at toyfair in 1982, sorry. I have a lot of Kirchner art dated 1980. And on my sealed figures from mego the copyright date is 1981.
So they were in production prior to 82. Gijoe may have been in development earlier than 82 but sorry bud. This is definitely a case of Hasbro ripping off another company. The irony is now the new mego has a snake eyes vs storm Shadow mego exclusive....irony. And thedarkone508, you'll be able to find the Galactic Mothership at domestic retail... you'll be seeing the entire line at multiple domestic retailers not just online. For more info on all CORPS!
