Tenkai Knights is a toyline by Ionix/Spin Master. They're robotic knight brick building sets. The mini-figures and larger figures transform into bricks. When in figure mode, you add armor and other parts to make them look cooler.
This is a new toyline that debuted at TRU but will be making its way to other retailers before the end of the year. The mini-figures are like Kreons, ball jointed legs and shoulders. The bigger/titan figures($12.99+) are fully articulated, ball jointed shoulders/ankles/hips, hinged knees and elbows. The larger helmets swivel just a bit to the left and right. Color me impressed, I bought my first titan set tonight and was surprised at how well it turned out. The titan sets each come with a unique weapon brick. I got the Bravenwolf and the brick turns into a long sword. Pretty neat. AFAIK the titans cannot transform with the armor on. Not sure if this is the same with mini-figures but I've seen the mini-figures transformed with parts on. Not sure if they can stay on through transformation or if someone just removed and replaced the parts. Anyways the overall look reminds me a lot of LBX Pandora and SD Gundam. Only these are brick-based. So if you like Legos, Mega Bloks, that kind of thing, this is a line that may pique your interest. I'm definitely going to buy more. There's a cartoon for this too but I haven't watched it. |

I saw a video of the smaller toys the other day - they remind me of the Blockman series from the 80s. A bit. I've yet to see the larger figures though.
