didnt really see the toon as it came on as i was leaving for school as a kid but i had some of the toys. I'm considering ordering the dvd sets soon

I didn't own many of the toys (Just the cowboy guy and the K-9 guy), but they were one of those lines that despite me never owning many I thought they were super-cool when I saw them on-shelves (especially with those big cap-firing weapons). I'd love to see Hasbro do some kind of revival with modern sculpting techniques (maybe shrinking them down to 3.75/4 inch level).

Somewhere in my imagination, COPS, G.I. Joe, Inhumanoids, and MASK all take place in the same world/universe. Oddly, despite having more crossovers than any of the others, I rarely include Transformers in that mix.

Of course, if I recall correctly, the "future time" the Cops were fighting crime in is...now, isn't it?

I had no idea there were direct ties between COPS and GIJoe, like beyond Bowser looking like Mutt and Turbo looking like Torch. They reused the names for DEF? Awesome! Now that I do know all this, I would gladly take a couple waves in 3 3/4 modern construction. Get on it, Hasbro.

Ah, i first saw these in France summer 1989... European releases of any Hasbro toys other than TFs were often a year, or in the case of G.I.Joe, two years behind the US.

Cartoon made it to UK TV, but for some reason or other Hasbro UK skipped the toy line.

They really felt like toys loosely based on a cartoon, rather than the other way round. Larger scale figures meant the scope for proportionately large vehicles was kind of limited, and i couldn't see that as anything but a negative.

Much as people said already, idea had potential. Execution left something to be desired.

I'm a fan of comic artist Bart Sears and I always thought his designs for the C.O.P.S. line was awesome. Never had any of the figures though. I may have to rectify that.
