What are the other military toy lines that folks around here use for creating 3-3/4" customs or to fill out their 'Joe ranks? I see acronyms get thrown around here every so often but have no idea what you folks are talking about.
I see BBI a lot but if BBI is the same as "Elite Force," then why don't people refer to it as "Elite Force"? And why doesn't anyone ever reference The Ultimate Soldier 3-3/4" line? |

Where in Maryland are you?
Walmart seems to have red tagged most of their Ultimate Soldier stock and moved it out. KB is gone and TRU has the smaller scale military items. I wanted to start collecting a 3 3/4" WW2 line of toys (and they seemed to be everywhere years ago) but I just can't find any store that carries a good stock so I gave up. |

The other "REAL" scale vehicles and plane manufacturers are known as the following below. All are 1:18 scale (Realistic G.I. Joe scale) and Power Team Elite (PTE), Chap Mei, The Corps!, etc...are not included. The following companies make militaty products that fit the joes.
21st Century Toys - (21C) The Ultimate Soldier Xtreme Detail Blue Box Toys - (BBi) Elite Force Admiral Toys - (AT) Unimax - (FOV) Forces of Valor: Bravo Team Pegasus Hobbies (PH) Maisto By the way, I would post pictures of everything that has been made by these companies, but due to complaints that some call it "pic spam", you should refer to the following link. Start on page 3 and 4 of the link to the section on this site to see the pics; http://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-jo...e-force-3.html Last edited by Starfighter; 02-26-2009 at 12:26 PM.. |

BBI is the manufacturer of Elite Force - not sure why we refer to them rather than the line. The Ultimate Soldier line usually gets referred to as 21st Century Toys (again, the manufacturer) - I *think* because they had more than the Ultimate Soldier line, and that gives us more of a blanket statement.
"Hey guys, did you see the new Hasbro stuff out there? I used a head from the Hasbro line to complete my DragonBall Z custom." WTF? |

I still find WWII 21st Century XD figures at the TRU in Owings Mills and at KayBee outlets when I find those--the used to be one up in Gettysburg. |

Even though (and thankfully), Buck Rogers started the 3.75 world for us from the manufacture Mego, Star Wars, The Black Hole, Chips, The Dukes of Hazzard, The A-Team, The Legend of the Lone Ranger, Flash Gordon, The Clash of the Titans and finally G.I. Joe kept the 3.75 world alive for us. They are called by their licensed identity and not their manufacture name due to rights and the fact that these manufactures made more than one toyline in the 3.75 world. Manufactures in order of conception for 3.75 - Mego, Kenner, Gallob and Hasbro). This 1:18 realistic scale military stuff is more unique to the current hobby world than the various brands that Hasbro have produced. They are limited and not mass released on with the same or similar production numbers. They are rarer and more of a collectible than a toy. They are more-so part of the model world and not by the television/comic world. That is why they go by manufacture name and not by the licensed identity.

There's a new line at Target of 4" US military-sponsered figures. That just pisses me off. Why the extra 1/4 inch? WTF! Totally incompatible!
