Yeah, rebooting Marvel wouldn't work, but tighting things up is exactly what they should be doing. I like how DC streamlined things, you know there is only those 52 books (give or take..) and you don't need to read three different titles to follow a story. I like how it's all very self contained and tight. Disney could be doing wonders for Marvel, but I don't think the interest is there.
I think the problem for a new Marvel reader is that they get so over-whlemed with 4-5 Avengers books, 9-10 X-books, 3 Spidey books. 2 FF books, and then all the minis, and solos. If you can handle it incorrectly and do not plot your spending, you could easily spend $40-$50 on Marvel comics a week. That leads to a quick burn-out factor. Just my two-cents.

Something about the way she says "ya'll" that just makes me cringe. And I'm FROM the South.

I think the first thing each book should do is become a single weekly book for 3 months. So 1 Avengers book, 1 X-Men book, 1 Spidey book etc. Then slowly (maybe 1 per quarter) start to spin out other books that are still CANON to the main book. Cap the spin-offs at 3 per Team, and then allow 2 solo books per team as well (ie Hawkeye Solo, Wolverine solo, etc). Of course single characters with no affiltion to teams can still have single on-goings.
