So, somehow I bumbled into a date with this chick through a discussion of LEGO. Started out when she IMed me "what I was doing at work?"
Not wanting to say "surfing for softcore porn pics to post on a toy website forum," I instead responded with "looking at LEGO." She laughs and says "I am being a child." So earnestly wanting to educate her on how complex and intricate LEGO playsets have become, I proceed to show her pictures of the recent playsets. The one I happened to choose was the LEGO Black Pearl ship from Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Then, I followed up with a pic of LEGO Johnny Depp/Capt. Sparrow. This absolutely tickles her fancy and she says "OMG" and how "I should totally get those, put them together, and show it to her in person." At this point, I am actually aghast at her laziness so I respond with, "well, we can put it together, together." Next thing I know, she answers with "Ooh, that will be fun! I have never did one so it'll be a first. Let's meet up [time and location deleted to protect the innocent, i.e. me]." Now, you guys have to believe, it was her comment that she had never before played with LEGO that took me aback so much so, that I could not come up with an excuse to get out of a LEGO play date. Now, I gotta track down a stupid POC LEGO set for the week-end. She better put out, or at least build me a LEGO pirate ship, cuz I know I don't have the skillz to build one. Moral of the Story: Even LEGO Johnny Depp will get you laid

Nice price. Would it be that cheap in store, too? I rarely hit the Disney store unless I need to. Wouldn't mind an extra for parts.

I'll have them scan the box tomorrow. Should hit the indie store next door to it anyway.

I got that set for Christmas, and Colossus came with a broken hand.. my gf bought in October so no chance of a return and of course Hasbro never got back to me when I contact them (through the proper dept.) about it. $24.99 is still too much to replace just one figure. :(

Yep. Lots to catch up on.
I'm the first to hash-tag anything in this thread. There was a +545 to crankiness in this thread sometime last night because Alcinde didn't get any love from Star Wars Paul before he logged off. Dolf334 goes to Wal-Mart to get dates. There was a big discussion about Peyton Manning and whose owner has the biggest bankroll to get him There was a discussion about tablets due to the iPad 3 thing today. And there was a brief discussion about breaking an Emma Frost and a Hope Summers in half with 'just the tip' There was a brief discussion of what you would do if you managed to get a Spider-Man shocker for $5 at Ross and you saved $25 off the current eBay going rate. Most of us would buy more toys. You're caught up. Quote:

btw, WM is expanding the lines they carry. WM had Walking Dead TV Show figures on the pegs for $11.97 each. They use a smaller card than the TRU ones, but they appear to have everything still. 10 pegs of them.
Also had the mini Adventure Time figures. Hopefully this means the 5" Finn and Jake figures won't be far behind.

So after reading up on the Young Avengers, I fully agree with Nirv that a Giantic battle Cassie Lang (Stature) would be great. They can throw in the original Hank Pym Ant-Man, since it looks like that 2-pack is cancelled along with her. I would hunt that set all the way to North Dakota.

It's slow tonight. Good time to read some more DC comics.
