I wouldn't be too critical of the Spider-man line, as it is clearly made for kids and not collectors. Sure, they got a really good Rhino and Venom, and an ok Carnage and Doc Ock, but I don't think this was the point of the line, and I wouldn't doubt that even better versions of these figures might be made for MU. But don't be too rough on the Spidey line - it is what it is.

It is junk, the fact that they are making Happy Meal toys and charging the same as the Iron Man toys, they should just be ashamed. In a recent SW Q&A Hasbro said that articulation adds to costs, ok then what about the statues they keep pumping out with this crappy line.
OH and it's not the ressession they blame, its fans. |

There are new pics up on Marvelousnews of the SDCC exclusives. I'm liking the MU exclusives and may even pick up the Spidey movie costume figure that appeared out of nowhere. It appears to have IM2/MU articulation - which is an improvement over the Spidey line that is out there now.

Ok, I've got to have that WW2 cap. I'd also love the movie Spider-man and that Thor if I can afford them.
And if I can snap them up come SDCC sales day on HTS.

Not being a huge fan of Raimi's Spider-Man films, I like the idea of doing 3 3/4 versions of characters based on past movies and TV shows. Sign me up for a Lou Ferrigno Hulk/Bill Bixby David Banner two-pack.

Not so sure about TV Hulk, but this does open the door for some cool options if Hasbro has the rights. How about a Ben Affleck Daredevil (Not one I want, but you know), or Dolph Lundgren Punisher? I wouldn't mind adding a Jessica Alba Sue Storm either.

I know I'm a minority with this one but I'd buy it. I've been an Affleck fan since Dazed & Confused. He has had some flops but all the Kevin Smith movies have redeemed him in my eyes. I always thought his personality off screen was cool (and a lot like mine according to my wife). I forgave him over that whole J-Lo thing.
Okay, now that I'm out of the closet on this one...please do not ban me. |
