1. Making sure to get the information out there first before being scooped (maybe by someone who saw behind the curtain so to speak at UK Toy Fair). I wouldn't quite call Rebelscum's "rumor report" a scoop since they're close enough with the Big H that it was probably deliberate. 2. Some stealth marketing synergy with the recent announcement of J.J. Abrams as the director of Episode VII. Star Wars is news again, why not keep that train rolling? 3. It's a big enough announcement to warrant it's own "thing." Plus (and perhaps foremost) it gives collectors a bit of "good news" in the wake of the Droid Factory cancellation announcement (and even more recent the cancellation of the further 3D conversions). |

Tease now then show all 4 from the wave at TF plus maybe if the wave 1 release date is pretty close maybe a mention of who will be in wave 2.

Definitely excited for this. I do expect photos of wave 1 and a line-up of wave 2 at Toy Fair. I'm glad to see they're putting the level of articulation collectors enjoy rather than cheapening out on 5 POA for the 12" figures. I'm an old school guy and still have some of my original 12" figures. I'd have been all over better sculpted and articulated 12" but I can see Hasbro not going there so as not to compete with Sideshow and Hot Toys.
I never thought I'd be excited for a Pilot Luke but Hasbro has stepped up big time. It's the shot Star Wars needs to re-energize the old school collectors. |

I've always been surprised that back in he day Hasbro NEVER used the super articulated 12" Joe Buck for the SW figures.
