I look forward to seeing everyone's choices and comparing them to my own. This has definitely been a year of ups and downs. And looking back I'm very surprised by my own choices. But in hindsight I really think i had to choose the figures the way I did.
3 3/4 and 4" Scale: Year of The Ninja! 1. SDCC GI Joe Jinx- Both the red and white versions are spectacular, and I'm counting them together , because they are kind of the same figure. The only thing that keeps this figure, either, from getting a 10 rating is that both should have come packaged with both heads. It was cheap of Hasbro not to do this. Pose-abilty, sculpt, and quality are all amazing. I only wish all exclusive figures were handled with such care and quality. The only improvements could be the addition of both heads as I mentioned, and the thigh sculpt could be a bit better, and more fitting to the overall proportions of the figure. 2. GI Joe: Retaliation Red Ninja- Both single carded and Showdown 3-pack versions. Again, with a few color and accessory differences they are basically the same figure. Both are fabulous updates to the Resolute SS figure, but not a complete repaint. Pose-ability, sculpt, and accessories are off the charts. A figure that also mixes well with almost any line as a troop builder. just fantastic, and I can't wait until they get re-released to buy more. 3. Dollar General GI Joe Storm Shadow- While he could use more accessories and is almost a complete repaint with a hood addition-the figure is so amazing I had to include it in my list. Add some black paint for a super-easy black ninja custom any novice customizer should be able to do. 4. Star Wars TVC Old Republic Trooper- If this figure was super-articulated it would have been my figure of the year, and possibly the greatest Star Wars figure of all time. Posing is limited by the T-crotch as often with star wars figures, but it is an amazing translation from game to figure. the head sculpt is also spot on. The Hasbro SW team did an excellent job with this guy. the weapons are also a bit large for my tastes, but they are extra weapons anyways. Paint and sculpt are top-notch. 5. Star Wars TVC Aayla Secura- the best Aayla Secura figure we are likely to ever get in this scale. It's fabulous. Ball joints, great sculpt, well painted. She is a fitting figure for the beauteous Twi'lek Jedi. Another Home run for Hasbro SW team. I only wish the cloak was a better fit...basically not useable without looking awkward. 6. The Avengers Black Widow- The early releases did not suffer from "derp" eye problems like the later releases...so, I'll forgive that one. Great head sculpt, great pose-ability, and a great overall sculpt and paint in most cases. the best Avengers figure easily IMO. One of the better Marvel movie figures we have gotten. 7. Marvel Universe Kraven, The Hunter- Great sculpt, fitting accessories, and acceptable paint apps. Hasbro cheaped out on not painting the skulls white, and sometimes over-painted with wash-as has been a recent problem with MU figures. The sculpt and playability factors are very high. I think the best MU figure of the year. 8. Marvel Universe Scarlet Witch- Scarlet Witch is my favorite Marvel character, and has been since my childhood. So I'm probably skewed in my perception. I'm just glad she is acceptable. Nice head sculpt. I don't understand thigh high boots rather than knee high boots, but whatever. The cape is also too long. Overall I've seen mostly excellent paint, and very few derped eyes. MU She-Hulk most would rate higher, but I have some serious issues with Shulkies knees. I'm not a fan of the new MU female buck, and SW could probably benefit from (I can't believe I'm saying this) less articulation, or using the previous female buck. That said--she's a personal top 10. 9. TRU LUB Marvel Universe Captain America- This will probably always be my default Captain America. I love this figure. It is the proper, classic Cap look-useless pouch free, and it has the helpful metallic paint apps. My favorite Cap figure so far to be sure. 10. Star Wars TVC Hoth Luke Skywalker- What can I say? Ball -joint hips, and a new body sculpt with a decent face sculpt. I knew I bought that Taun Taun for a reason! Great paint as well. A super Luke figure. 11. The Amazing Spider-Man Ultra-Pose-Able Spider-Man- A required figure for any fan of the character or the movie, and a nice bookend to the Tobey SDCC Spider-Man. I just wish it had a waist swivel point. 12. TRU Marvel Universe Rhino/Spider-Man 2 -Pack Spider-Man- A great black/red Spider-Man using the thinner SA buck. I prefer Spidey to be thin rather than bulky like the FF Spidey. I also prefer Spidey to be red/black rather than red/blue. There are some issues with there being gloss and matte black paints used which ends up looking a bit bizarre or this one would be ranked higher for sure. 13. TRU Marvel Universe 2-Pack and Single -Carded She-Hulk - I like both of these for different reasons, and it is hard for me to choose. Both would be ranked higher except the knee joints greatly detract from an overall great figure. I don't understand who thought these knobby, bulky knees were a good idea? The Single carded SH also has a lot of paint and glue issues. 14. TRU Marvel Universe X-Factor Angel- Wings that every toy company should learn from. The wings are so fantastic I should probably rank it higher, and the buck is also great, but the atrocious paint Quality Control on this entire set has put toy painting standards back years. Ugh. I got lucky and a fellow Tanker found me a set early with nice paint apps, but every one I've seen since has been horrible. 15. TRU LUB Marvel Universe Black Widow- Yes, it is a figure that uses all recycled parts, but they are perfectly fitting, and more appropriate IMO. The paint and overall design finally fits Black Widow. This will likely always be my MU display Black Widow-great, great figure. 6" Scale Figures: 1. ROML Extremis Iron Man (red/gold)- Yeah, it's an iron man figure, but Hasbro has been knocking the IM figures outta the park. I love this figure. This figure simply has everything I'm looking for in a 6 " scale figure--sculpt, posing, paint quality and overall badassness. 2. ROML Thor (modern)- he is abit out of scale or he'd be number 1. He is huuuuugggggeeee, too huge, and that is an issue with display. otherwise he is an amazing example of what the ROML line should be. 3. MOTUC Frosta- I've been waiting for this figure since they announce PoP figures were coming out. What can I say? Backwards forearms be damned-I love this figure! My favorite PoP character. 4. DCUC Elasti-Girl- This is one figure I never thought would get made, but she did. She's lovely and big enough. Great quality on this figure. Fantatsic, and while a bit pricey where else would you be able to get this figure? 5. ROML Terrax BAF- He's awesome. One of my favorite villains...'Nuff said. Still haven't received the Metal Men, and haven't completed Arnim Zola...as a disclaimer. Also Commander Rogers and Neo-Classic Iron Man would probably be next on my 6" list.... I also know Zedhatch will probably be doing his own list again, but his list is massive, and honestly deserves it's own thread because of it's all-encompassing and professional nature.

None of the new TMNT figures on the list? The four turtle figures are by far some of the best versions of the characters we've probably ever gotten in any of their incarnations.
I'd also like to throw in Marvel Minimates and the most recent wave number 47: The Outback X-Men. Wolverine, Colossus, Longshot, Dazzler, Rogue, Storm, Havok, and a troop builder in the Brood. |

Well, your list can be what you want it to be. Never been a big Turtles fan..although i may break down and buy Raph at some point. I believe those are 5" scale IIRC... And Minimates would be 2" scale
But the newest 2 waves of Minimates are really nice... I'm of the age where I read the comics, but when the toon came out I was a bit old to enjoy that version...so, I guess I missed it by a few years. the Turtles I read were pretty vicious--not really surfer dudes.

If the biker Scout had a better flight stand... maybe adjustable height... it would have made my list. As it is, I only picked up 2 because they are so high and bulky you can't get a good 'soaring bike formation' out of them
