Hey guys. I am about to drop some serious change on the BBI Blackhawk helicopter for myself but I am worried that it might be too fragile to handle putting figures in and out as well. I also wonder whether the 30th joes fit in it. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Is it worth the cost is what I want to know. Thanks!

My friend bought one in 2004 or 2005. He is a Blackhawk mechanic and he has had no problems with. Even the blades are still great. Id say that it would be a great buy and pretty dam durable.

I had one blade break but that was because it's not idiotproof.

I had the BBI Blackhawk and it is a great toy. I mainly used mine for display. I never had any problems with breakage. It is a sturdy built toy, but it is definitely more for teenage/adult collectors than kids. The ARAH figures fit in rather easily. However, the modern figures are a very tight fit, and a pain to get inside the toy. But they will fit.

I wish I bought one when Target was selling them years ago. I got an Apache there for $30. I don't handle it much, as it's on top of a display case in my living room. The Apache looks great and is huge.

You should be good to go. The only breaks I've had on Bbi birds were either bad luck or user error-induced. They didn't use shitty plastic like 21st Century did. As for manning it, pilot and peter pilot positions shouldn't be an issue, though you may have to do some contorting/use a pencil to assist. Back in the cabin it'll depend, I think.
As for "worth it" well that depends on what you pay and for what version. |

Awesome! I was going to buy one from Small Joes but it's over a buck twenty. I really want one. Is there anyplace cheaper to get one? It sounds like an awesome copter. Thanks!

You sure? SmallJoes has the latest version for 160, which is about average retail on them. You might win an older UH or HH on eBay for less, but I'm not sure what the going rate there is.
If you can find any version for 120 I'd probably go for it. |
