Right on. Ghost Rider has turned into a Deus Ex Machina for Marvel. Whenever they've gotten too carried away with powering up a villian, the writer will have him ride in, fight the baddie, then leave. Usually this gives the heroes of the storyline time to figure out what to do, or it shows them the villian's weakness. World War Hulk is one of my favorites, because the Illuminati thought they were saved when the Rider showed up.
In his own comic, over half of the stories are of Johnny Blaze tooling around, debating what he should do. Been that way since the series first issue.

So... no offense, but if you most of you guys don't read modern Marvel comics, then why does it matter what they do? I'm starting to see a trend. Those of us that read the current books are more in favor a reboot, while those that don't are not in favor of it. Maybe a reboot isn't that answer, but Marvel is in serious need of a BIG change to the way they do things, and Marvel NOW definitely isn't it. It's just getting worse.

Also, I'm sorry but really? To put comic stores out of business? No offense man, but I'm not going to go pay 50-100% over retail for something no matter who it's from. People need to stop being hypocrits about capitalism. There is nothing wrong with going with the best available price. If the comic stores want to stay in business it's simple; change your prices. I know of stores that have great prices and they do fine. Just some food for thought...

to save tress, duh. stop killing trees just to read about men in tights already. Actually my comic shop is mostly supported by games now anyways. the comic industry itself is doing a good enough job of closing down stores with their terrible mini-series and #1's and multiple covers, story lines geared towards big book store TPBs, and difficulties in distribution :( I support the comic industry of the future- the stores, like the old mom and pop video stores of the 80's are doomed to failure if the hope to stay in business selling just funny books.
