He doesn't really mean this. You are basically another person that will get the figures before he does. Just like LL and Swan.

Well, I have been lurking on the "Old Marvel Universe" thread for about a month or so. Most of the time I spent catching up, but it has seem to slow down recently. I am not really a big Marvel Collector, Joes are my main thing. Since we have no Joes until February 2013, I spend my hunts looking for stuff to help other 'Tankers' in the Los Angeles area. Though, I am starting to like the newer and upcoming stuff. Hope I can keep up with you guys and gals.
I guess I should post my haul for the day... Does anyone have the light up base Avengers Hulk and Wave 18 single Hulk, and do they match in skin tone?

The Lizard is kidnapping Chinese orphans and turning them into Lizard people!!!! Good thing Spider-man is on the scene! But OhNo! Kraven the hunter is also on the hunt today- and his target is Spider-Man! Thankfully Spider-Man is an Avenger- and Avengers are never on their own! Way to provide black-up, Panther! Way to be! |

So... no offense, but if you most of you guys don't read modern Marvel comics, then why does it matter what they do? I'm starting to see a trend. Those of us that read the current books are more in favor a reboot, while those that don't are not in favor of it. Maybe a reboot isn't that answer, but Marvel is in serious need of a BIG change to the way they do things, and Marvel NOW definitely isn't it. It's just getting worse.
I don't really care about a reboot or not. Characters change so drastically so often that I dont' think it really matters. Remember when some people thought Age of X was a permanent change? Quote:
Also, I'm sorry but really? To put comic stores out of business? No offense man, but I'm not going to go pay 50-100% over retail for something no matter who it's from. People need to stop being hypocrits about capitalism. There is nothing wrong with going with the best available price. If the comic stores want to stay in business it's simple; change your prices. I know of stores that have great prices and they do fine. Just some food for thought...
Not all of them can achieve great prices. Quote:
I can't speak for anyone else, but I read very few modern Marvel comics because I don't like the direction they've taken any of my favorite characters. And this is exactly why I don't want them to reboot. A reboot means they go back and throw out everything that made the character who they were when I read them and (to some extent) who they are today. I don't think modern writers have the right to do that. They haven't earned it. My life long favorite characters don't deserve it.

What up Omega MU's?
I'm back, after a Game of Thrones marathon. All season 1 and half of season 2. Now I'm almost caught up to Al and all you GoT junkies. Now I gotta catch up with the AvX stuff I'm only up to issue 5, but I'm a quick reader. Marvel now? The Walking Dead is making me feel some kind of way. Shout out to Jinx 723 for the She Hulk/Wolvie CP. Still on a half ass hunt for the Doom/Spidey and Wave 18/19. Well, between searching my Walmarts last night, Targets not restocking this morning, and TRUs skipping yet ANOTHER week of stocking Wave 18, I've been broken. I shipped my 5 figures from BBTS pile of loot and bought a case of Wave 18 from HTS, shipping it at the same time. Looks like I'm a preorder guy now. I was trying to maintain my routine of swapping out new stuff for $3 clearance stuff, thereby paying only about $3 a figure for everything, but did the math and figured between the fruitless hunting and time it takes to monitor restocks, not to mention the buying them out and returning them further away process, I'm breaking even on the clearance thing. DUMB. I know, I know, everyone's been saying this for months now, but until I actually did the math myself, I somehow believed that my $3 figures made it a better deal finding them at retail. That's just not true anymore. So where do I sign up for the preorder club membership? Do we get smoking jackets and slippers or something? Where do I have my ID photo taken? |

@ Squidward, I have an extra long-haired Black Widow head from that Winter Soldier 2-pack that I'm not doing anything with. Do you want it? It'll be free.

Yeah.. but $3 to $5 more than Walmart isn't the same as $10-$30 more than Walmart like we see so often. Everyone knows they can't charge the same as Walmart, no one can. It's more than that of course, but at the end of the day, they're not a toy shop. Variant comics are supposed to support comic shops, well.. why should I buy the variant He-Man #1 for $30 when I can get it the regular for a few dollars. Or even better, I can get it in high resolution digitally. I think there is a mentality among certain types of "non big box" shops these days where they think they can charge out of control premiums and it's just not realistic. You diversify, not price out your market.
