The rumormill on Slave I is that Hasbro originally planned to do an ESB-colored Slave I this year based on the larger Clone Wars mold that came out a couple years ago, but then someone at Hasbro realized that Attack of the Clones 3D was coming next year, so they pulled the exclusive and chances are we're going to get a repack of the Jango-era Slave I as part of the glut of Episode II 3D product that will be languishing on shelves all of next year.
At this point I'm betting we won't get a Boba-era Slave I using the new, larger mold until Empire Strikes Back 3D hits.... The only partially-positive news in all this is that there's a rumor that Lucasfilm is going to kick it up to two movies a year rather than this "one every year" business, because the 3D "fad" is cooling down (at least in the United States) for everything except the biggest blockbusters (and the toy line seems to be on the downward spiral as well). I only say that's "positive" in the sense we'll get this 3D Star Wars garbage out of the way faster, and get to the OT that much quicker. |

Yep. And if I remember correctly, they don't even have access from the cockpit to the rest of the ship. I may be wrong but I'm too lazy right now to go look at mine in the basement.

Idk. I'm inclined to actually agree with you, somewhat. I'm not an avid SW collector; I dabble a little. But I've steered clear of 99% of the CW stuff, as I think it's mostly crap. Idk if SW will ever get good articulation overall. I really like the vintage Collection stuff, but case assortment and distribution have been a real problem.

I got mine for $50 when on clearance 2 years ago. What a loss leader. I surprised Hasbro is releasing it again. The new ATAT is also re-released.

I can predict what 75% of the "collectors" here are going to say:

It's too expensive. I'll wait until it's on clearance or hits Ross or TJ Maxx.

I bought my 2 for $40each from target. While the size is awesome it is totally stupid they took up valuable play space for stupid gimmicks like the escape pod. Heck the landing gear don't even retract or store inside.

Yeah, the landing gear thing was frustrating as well.

This is good news for Star Wars fans. This shows that Hasbro is capable of producing big chunk of plastic playsets...I wish they would do the same for GIJoe. :(
