I was at a Wal-Mart at 5 AM today and it was a little crazy, to say the least. My buddy and I said screw it and went to Toys R Us instead. Well organized, and I got absolutely everything on the list my wife and I had put together. At like 8 AM I stopped by a different Wal-Mart on my way home and found the Lego Castle for half off. That was one of the things I wanted originally from the other WM, but they were sold out real quick. This thing is normally $100 and I got it for $50. There was only one more behind it on the shelf, so I feel pretty lucky that I got it. It almost made getting up that early to go shopping worth it - almost. And I got Kung-fu Panda the movie for $9.

Cool, the Toys R Us by me has the Pirate Legos back out. I told the wife I needed a Joe/Lego Christmas!

Cool. I actually scored the same thing on the 21st. My local Wal-Mart already had it marked down to $48 on the shelf and it was the last one.

Yeah I saw that too! I have never seen those before, and they don't even show up on Educational Toys, Learning Toys, Construction Toys | LEGO Shop either! I may have to check out that pirate ship soon, but I just dropped $50 on the castle and another $90 on the passenger train. I got the freight train last year and now I figured it was time to get the other. Do you know anything about the holiday train? It appears as online only, but hasn't been in stock. It looks kind of cool, like something that should go under the Christmas tree.
I don't know about the holiday train, I don't see it on the shop at home site anywhere. I figured they are sold out. As for the new Pirates sets, you can see them all here: Brickset: LEGO set reference | Search results: theme 'Pirates'; released in 2009 I've seen some of them in stores already. |
