Weren't MASK figures more like 3''? I never had any so not sure.
I also remember some sets which were either from Matchbox or Majorette, that had some small figures all with the same heads and some minor articulation. The sets included a car and several equipment. I remember a construction work set and a police one. Never seen that on ebay

I will start with the ones I know best: Transformers Human Alliance: 2'' figures GI Joe Sigma 6: 2.5'' figures Transformers Human Alliance is what i wanted GI Joes Sigma 6 2.5'' line to be. Can you imagine the Sigma 6 ROCC, Hiss Tank, Rhino or Dragonfly with properly articulated 2.5'' figures? I'd have spent a lot of money on vehicles that i usually do not buy . I feel the same way about Mega Bloks. I dont own any (mybe 1) now but i'm still a fan of the design for the most part. How anyone could choose a Lego figure over a modern Mega Bloks figure is beyond me. I've seen some amazing Mega Bloks super hero customs (and gi joe) that have made me come close to collecting the line for customizing purposes. Starcom is in the same boat as Sigma 6 in my opinion i.e. what could have been. As it stands Starcom had some amazing vehicles and the figures were cool for their time i suppose. If the line was released today with fgures that had at least ARAH GI joe articulation it would still be a winner 20 years later. Air Raiders is another line that i enjoy conceptually but my being picky about articulation doesnt allow me to enjoy them now as i did when i was a kid. 4-5pts. of articulation just doesn't cut it for me . New Favorite Mega Bloks line...
I've thought about buying a few of the Sklander figurines, but never did. Now I can get them articulated. |

^ I really like the visual appeal of the Skylanders (?) line. It reminds me of ..almost Urban Vinyl concepts.
*Below* My favorite mini figures (and possibly figures in general) of all time. I havent had a chance to apply touch up paint or smooth the slightly rough spots but i dont care lol. I'll do it later this week. They are *truly* 2'' tall (as in exactly 2 inches). Virtually the same articulation as an ARAH GI Joe (swivel neck, hinge swivel shoulders, swivel biceps, hinge elbows, swivel waist, hinge swivel hips like DCUC or Transformers Human Alliance , swivel lower thigh and hinge knees). The only articulation i added was the swivel biceps and hinge elbows. As you can see Warhammer 40K weapons are in scale. Eventually i'll be sanding some down and making custom characters. The best part? Warhammer 40K miniatures (specifically the Space Marines), once articulated with these joints, are robust enough that they fit in despite being slightly shorter in unmodified form. Do you need pilots for giant mecha / robot customs ? Here you are. The size makes vehicle display wonderful . I've always appreciated the scale but now that i have swivel biceps on a mini figure i have no reason to collect anything else. Last edited by Plasticfan; 01-24-2013 at 04:25 AM.. |
