Time for a bump to this thread since I've ventured into the Kre-o world.
I recently grabbed the Devestator set from a local Tanker and the Ultimate Optimus Prime set from Marshalls, since they're dropping further in price following the holidays. Overall these are very quality sets. I like the rubber ball joints to get some good articulation out of the robot build. Some parts do come off easily but i think that might be more of a design issue with the build rather than the bricks not locking tightly. The only issues I've found are missing parts on factory sealed sets and the larger figures are top heavy. The Optimus Prime set had 5 missing peices; nothing major, mostly small bricks, but I advise people to sort their set once opened. In my experience Lego gives extra pieces so it's sad to see pieces missing. It looks like Hasbro will replace missing pieces for free. I have sent away for replacement parts so we'll see what it comes of it. Second is the larger builds like Optimus and Devestator have large chests. This tends to make them top heavy and while the joints are great for the medium sized robots, the larger robots tend to fall over or the joints have trouble staying if posed in certain positions. For Devestator, I removed a lot of the extra sections on his back and that seems to help with his stability and posability. Overall I'm liking my first entries into Kre-o. I'll probably grab the larger Bumblebee set at Marshalls for $15. Then it will be a waiting game for the Joe Kre-os to start showing up. Just my thoughts. |

the blind packs are hard to find and once you have the kits, adn there isn't to many of them really, not much to talk about in general other than customs, etc.
