I think its even small for the 2.5'' figures. Its ok for heroclix as someone said.
I think they could have taken a different approach and sell sections of the carrier like Star Trek was selling pieces of the control center with their figures. Or even more challenging allowing to expand the carrier with additional ones. For example tower could be removable and the engines the same. Maybe the front and back sections also and you could join 4 of them together if you wanted. Yes it would involve more separate parts but could be upgradable.

Yeah, because that worked out so well for the Star Trek line, right? The "expanding with additional carriers" idea might be more workable, but "build a playsets" are generally a very, very bad idea, because if the first wave doesn't sell through quite well, then you never get a "complete" playset.

If the set is made by A, B, C parts, and if the figure of the A part is hard to find I agree. But if the set is made of lots of A parts, that can be put in different positions, I think would be easier to make a buidable set. They are a kinda expensive buildable set from some Japanese toy stores that are expandable and interconnectible. It has around 17 kinds of wall and floor combination, some of them fit better to do walls and rooms. You can look for them online, as mechanical chain bases. Here are examples: Mechanical Chain Base 004 | HobbyLink Japan Kotobukiya Mechanical Chain Base Review Part 2 with Arbalest | Robot Toy & Figure | BMecha.com DuelMasterNG Gunpla: Mechanical Chain Base Combination Guide Unit 1/2/3 & 4/5/6 I have some, and I think with some more thinking, would be possibleto make a wall that has connectors making them connect in 90 degrees to other walls, in order to do floors and rooms.

Regarding my other idea I didn't meant it as you need to buy 4 to make one. You buy if you want if not you can have small 1 only or a 2 carrier version although this one would be weird lol
