What i mean is that FOV tanks kinda function like crap even though they are sweet looking. 21st century tanks are AWESOME!! So my question is are BBI tanks awesome as well.

The M2A2 IFV is the Infantry Fighting Vehicle. It carries 6 soldiers and is used in mechanized infantry brigades. (However the actual M2A2 toy only came with 3 seats in the back.) The M3A2 CFV is the Cavalry Fighting Vehicle. It carries 2 or 3 scouts and various equipment and is usually combined with tank platoons.

Something I've been wondering - why do so many of the 1:18 Humvees come with TOW launchers? Most pictures/footage I've seen of Humvees has a machine gun up top. Is the TOW that much more common? For that matter, is there a 1:18 Humvee (other than the Super Humvee) that has a machine gun there?

It's a pretty good question, one that usually answered in comparisons.
Then again, it really shouldn't matter unless you're playin' with them. ;) |

They're actually different versions ( i wanna say the 21st is the M2) Unimax's Abrams is a different model than Bbi's as well. |

Did Motorworks/21st Century make both the M3A2 and the M2A2, or is there a difference between the FOV Bradley and the 21st Bradley? (Aside from the issue of opening hatches)

Some humvees come with .50 caliber MGs, some come with Mk-19 grenade launchers, and those employed in anti-armor platoons come with TOWs. Just depends on the mission.

21st Century's Patton rolls the best from what I've seen. FOV is acceptable and bbi's Abrams barely functions at all. If you really want track function, buy a heng long tank and remove a gear from each of the boxes, the you have free wheeling, independent linked tracks and working suspension. Add metal upgrades and you will have a true beast to crush the opposition with. of course the metal tracks and suspension can add about $200 to the price.

I suppose smalljoes it is.. ugh. If Joe's are plastic crack, 1:18 addiction is turning into long-term meth use! Aye-yay-aye.

m2A2: http://www.globalsecurity.org/milita.../m2-022_26.jpg The main difference is in the front section. m3a2: http://www.globalsecurity.org/milita...a3_bradley.jpg The toys reflect those type sof changes. The m3 is the more modern one used after the gulf war and into today. FOV version: Aside from the physical difference, the top two hatches open on the turret and the rear hatch opens to hold several troops in the back. 21st Century: Older version, but all hatches open, turret and drivers, engine hatch opens, tow launchers extends, and rear hatch opens.

Unimax (FOV) makes the M3A2 CFV and 21C (motorworks) made the M2A2 IFV, which is awesome. The driver hatch opens, the top rear passenger hatch opens, the TOW launcher opens and moves, the hull is made of diecast so it's cool to the touch and solid feeling. I really wish they would make more vehicles like this. Had they made an M1 tank like this, it would have been fabulous.

There are massive differences in those two vehicles. The m3 has a totally different look to it aside from the actual functionality of the toy.
