So, I've never been a very serious action figure collector, but after a significant period of time away from collecting completely, I'm thinking of getting back in the game. (Aging and nostalgia, I think.) I've been able to piece together some info from net searches, but I'm hoping some of the experts on this board can provide, or at least verify, some info for me.
I'm pretty serious about scale, and it seems some things have changed since I was last paying attention. The 3.75" scale has always been my favorite, but it looks like that market now has a number of close-but-not-quites. The 25th Anniversary Joes, I understand, are about 4" (100mm), and the Microman DC superheroes look to be about the same. I know both of those lines look awesome. Also, Superhero Showdown seems OK, and I think it's in a similar scale. I'm wondering if anyone here who has compared these lines to true 3.75" figures can confirm that they are, indeed, larger. I'm also wondering about DC Infinite Heroes (has anyone gotten their hands on them yet?), Marvel's new line coming in the spring, and the newest Indiana Jones toys. Also, are any Joe toys still coming out in the true 3.75" scale? From the Collector's Club, or con exclusives, maybe? Is the SDCC Cobra Commander 4" or 3.75"? A silly question, maybe, but: Is The Corps still solidly in true 3.75" scale? I would really appreciate any help you all could provide. If I'm going to spend some of my meager disposable income on toys, I have to be selective about it, and it seems like the old 3.75" tag, like so many miniature scales, is starting to be used more and more loosely. Thanks! |

I dont know anything about the microman or marvel heros but about the scale...
the way i see it, 3.75" and 4" are approximate to 1:18 scale.. so if you blow a 4" joe 18 times it equals 72". The would be the height of a 6 foot tall man. 3.75 would just be a shorter person. |

Never blow a 4" joe 18 times, not even once.
