Haven't posted on the Tank in a long time and forgive me if this has been asked before. Dug my vintage Star Wars figures out of storage the other day and most seem to have a sticky residue coating them.
Figures were stored in my basement in a official Star Wars collectors case for the past year or so. Basement is not damp (or even too hot for that matter) but is set at a comfortable room temperature (it's a finished basement). Weird thing is most of the "sticky" ones are the Jedi (83-84) figures. so what gives?

I had a box full of duplicate vintage Star Wars figures that i'd been meaning to dig out and list on ebay and i found the same thing. Mine were mostly Hoth ESB figures though.
To be honest i'm not surprised, these are almost 30 years old and i think the softer rubber will break down before the harder Gi Joe type plastic. (and we know how brittle many of those are getting)

Yup, I noticed my Empire figures did the same...funny thing is not all of them are sticky. Only certain ones. As far as the Joe stuff goes, I had a few figures boots literally shatter when I tried to put their foot in a peg. The first series of figures (1982) it was almost like their hands had hardened and I could no longer fit weapons in their hands without losing a thumb (or worst case an entire hand)....I got so damn frustrated I sold it all off.
