I'm not so good with remembering some of the names from back then. Which one was "The Animal?"
I forgot I also had and still have TONS of LEGO. And All my hot wheels/matchbox cars. I also had construx. EDIT: Nevermind I saw the link. I never had that. I remember the commercials. Basic gist. I spent nearly all the 80's living in Germany (military) and my grandmother would record cartoons to send me every so often. And we HAD to have the commercials, because the one channel available didn't air any, so we actually missed them. And I LOVED the toy commercials. So, I tend to remember a lot of the commercials if I see them again. Though, hell, its been over 20 years now...damn. Last edited by Sarlacc; 10-02-2008 at 01:43 AM.. |

You know, I've often questioned that myself. I understand the absurdity of the toys themselves. I can't explain it, but I like them.

man, the 80's sure were a pivital time in the last 30 years for toys. The 70's had some good stuff which set a standard, but then BAM the 80's was non stop win. Just about everything that came out was pure genious. The 90's hit with some equaly great stuff but then fizzeled out half way through. Now toys are absolute cheaply made garbage with the exception of a few things. Mass produced junk that is insanely over priced.
Remeber as a kid if you have $5 in a toy store you were set? If you had $10 or $20 you were the talk of all your friends? And holy shit, remember those birthdays when random family member would put a $50 in your card?? ($50= 8 figures, 3 vehicles, and a Nintendo/Atari game!) It seems, like with anything else, all the fun and magic has been squashed out of everything with corporate greed. They just keep pushing and pushing untill its not fun to even buy toys anymore. |

i had a something from a lot of lines come to think of it.
Starriors, Roboforce, Robotix was awesome. Chuck Norris Karate Kommando's, Supernaturals. Oh, and the A-team. there were two lines. one was about 5 or 6" and then there was a pack in scale to the joe line. My friend had them but they were the ugliest things i had ever seen. They were down with neon way before the joes!
