And I figured since I had Stepp's cable snare out for the pic, I'd grab DCUC Cyborg and try something that's been on my mind for a while.......
Yep! It works, Stepp's snare fits into the forearm socket on Cyborg. And it doesn't stretch the socket or damage the handle of the cable snare to do so. It actually fits perfectly, just tight enough to hold in place, not loose enough to fall out Up close, you can see the connection between the snare and forearm is not the smoothest looking, but crap, it looks just fine to me It's nice having an extra arm attachment for Cyborg. I think the Sonic arm Cyborg variant should have come with 3 variant attachments, instead of just the one sonic cannon. Last edited by DarkParsifal; 01-18-2012 at 12:12 AM.. |

And here's one of my recent favorite accessory figure combos- ML BW with the utility belt from ML Union Jack.
Notice in this pic, the exact same pistol that originally came with BW fits perfectly into the holster. Even the flap can snap in place over the gun. And here BW is gearing back to throw a knife. The knife from the belt actually fits well in between her fingers. She can also grab hold of the knife by it's handle securely in her hand, but it's a loose fit, so you have to angle it just right or it will fall out. NExt Up here's another one of my recently discoverd favorites. It's the samurai sword and sheath from a Batttle Damage Samurai Jack action figure. I took a gamble by buying the figure a month ago for like $15 after shipping, not knowing if the sword would be good or not.
The gamble paid off, IMO. I've accumulated a bunch of random action figure samurai blades over the years, and this one has to be in my top 3 favorites. The paint is top notch, the plastic is hard and tough, the sword fits into the sheath without the blade getting scratched up; and it also stays in the sheath, it doesn't fall out when you move the figure around. The sword also has a long enough handle for your figures to wield it with both hands Lastly the sheath has a clip that allows it to be stored on your figures person. The only downside is, there's no adjustable strap attached to the sheath, which would allow it to be stored on essentially any figure. But it's inconsequential in light of how awesome the sword is, beause you can use a clear plastic band, or you could track down a shoulder/belt strap from another figure Last edited by DarkParsifal; 01-16-2012 at 12:35 AM.. |

The final most recent accesories I've found for 6" scaled figures came from an odd source-a GI Joe POC action figure. Check out LCBH SuperPatriot sporting a clip on pair of ice climbing blades from the recent POC Arctic Storm Shadow.
Looks like a double bayonette And if you've got Winter Soldier, you can give his cyborg arm a nice retractable pair of blades... Last edited by DarkParsifal; 01-16-2012 at 12:36 AM.. |

Ah damn nice work LL! That display makes me wish I hadn't passed up Bane when the series hit shelves awhile back. |

So to boost the awesomeness of the recent Retrun of MArvel LEgends Wave 2 Wrecking Crew members, I compiled a few picks of some pretty cool utility/construction/tool etc. type weapons that are relatively cheap and highly compatible with the larger than average and therefore difficult to find accessories for Wrecking Crew figures.....
So I found PileDriver at a Wal Mart, and it just doesn't look right posing him with TB's wrecking ball accessory, IMO. At the same time, didn't want to leave ole' PD empty handed, so I hit the accessory tackle boxes and found a few items. First up, here's a large ax and a pair of channel lock pliers. As you can see the ax has a serious utility/construction style look to it, keeping in theme with the whole "Wrecking" premise for the team And yes, in case you're wondering the pliers do actually open up, as this unlucky SHIELD Agent has to find out the hard way Here's PD getting ready to wreck Cap's Shield So if you like how these weapons look, they're from a Fire Rescue Helicopter figure vehicle pack sold by KMart. It costs $20 in store, and you get a handful of accessories, 8" figs, and a red helicopter (which actually fits 2-3 average sized Sigma 6 action figures). But since this a couple year old set, your local KMart might be sold out. It's still up for sale on their site though, for $20 plus about $7 shipped. Below is a picture of all the accessories that come from the set. You get the ax, pliers, a shovel, a saw, and the jaws of life. Also note that even though the figs and helicopter are very cheaply made with flimsy plastic, these weapons are actually very solid. The saw blade actually spins and the jaws of life have one hinged jaw; but if you notice in the pic below the sculpt of the saw and jaws are actually only detailed on one side, the other side of each is hollow |

And the cool thing about these accessories is they free up the extra wrecking ball from PileDriver so your ThunderBall can swing 2at a time, heheheheh.......
TB: "Well, well, well, if it isn't just the the two SHIELD Agents I was hoping to see tonight....huh, huh, huh." Maria Hill: "Ditch the guns, Sharon, I know how we can handle him....." Maria Hill and Sharon Carter together: "H-H-H-ee-yah!" Thunderball: "A-A-A-A-h-h-h, DAMN!" Maria Hill on radio to Fury: "No worries, Nick, the threat has been neutralized." Sharon Carter adds: "I think you meant to say "neuter"-lized hahaha Last edited by DarkParsifal; 04-18-2012 at 09:08 PM.. |
