So I get this bin at the fleamarket and theres this Black F-15 tucked at the bottom of a pile of Joe vehicle Shells. Naturaly with all the SDCC Skyscreamer hooplah and seeker customs poping up I thought Id make a Skywarp out of it.
Well I dont feel like it. So I thought Id do a mini-review / shamless bst plug for myself (available right now). OK here we have 1 generic dollar store F-15. It was pretty filthy but once I cleaned it up It was a nice shiney Black with Blaze orange V-stabs and Exhaust nozzles. Remarkably, I found all 4 missles for it. They are red and generic, I really dont think their based off of any particular real world bomb. The canopy is a milky kind of cloudy orange color and dossent stay latched shut. I had to boil and re-mold the hinge to get it to rest flush. There is also a wierd little handle I'm guessing? That I thought about choping off because the other side dose not have it. I guess I should mention that this thing is made of a somewhat soft plastic. It has a lot of flex to it especialy in the wings, it feels kind of cheap - but its not deal-breaker cheap. Standard Trike Landing gear has free rolling wheels and lets out a satisfying pop as they click into place in both up and down positions, sadly the landing gear is poorly detailed. The four missles hold onto their posts very well and more reliably than the ones on the new Skystriker. There is also a large opening where I guess a flip out handle would go but there no evidenge of a hinge inside so who knows? Size is far out of scale, but for the most part it works ok in the joe-verse. It dosent look too out of place next to the skystriker and is roughly the size of a Conquest. It is a two seater but it is cramped. Slimer figures like Slipstream here fit in pretty well in either seat, but need to be forced just a bit. The new Ace is much too bulky and will keep the canopy from shutting. There is also one more small compartment for equipment I guess. The plastic is so thin in the cockpit that itd be just as easy to cut it out and throw in some skystriker sets or something. Well theres not much more to say about it, Its pretty much just a fairly well done dollar store toy. I think it would make a kick-ass seeker custom, but as is I get a somewhat Nightboomer vibe from it. Plastic: Cheap / flexible / black Construction: Durrable / tough / cheap (tabs only, no screws, whole things made of 7 pieces Thats including the wheel / doors as one each) Stickers: gone (they were BAAAADDDDD) Playability: Throw in a new cockpit or get skinny pilots Potential: Definetly there for a mightier customizer than myself Value: ??? Oh and its made by the Gay toy company, hence the thread tittle. Heres lots o pics - have a loveley evening.

First of all, hilarious title name (whether you meant it or not). Secondly...I actually remember these things. They werent dollar store items, but they were very very cheap when they were sold in retail. They were sold at stores like K-mart. I am guessing these probably came out around 88-92'. They were cheap vehicle stand ins for 3 3/4 scale figures (Joes), that I am sure people who couldnt afford Joe vehicles bought. I am surprised that thing is still intact. They did the little jeeps with the wheels that were attached by one piece of metal (rolled at the same time).
I remember I had a few of these...They werent that good, but like I said this thing must have been on a shelf in someones basement for a LONG time, to be in such good condition for the material it was made out of. Nice find. Also I am pretty positive that there was no actual "box" per se that they came in...they were just free standing on shelves in stores. I recall them also having these at GL Perry... how much did you pay for it (if you dont mind me asking)?

Yeah, although that long ago, I didnt have a meijer near me when I was younger, I only had the K-Mart and the GL Perry's. But I am sure Meijer prolly would have carried something like this...like I said it was a good 20 years ago or something...
