I do collect modern era Joes, but I treat them as a seperate entity. Right now I'm not displaying any of my collections, but when I do they will be seperated most likely. When I was about 8 I had every MASK vehicle and playset made... but I lost interest in them pretty quickly. A couple years later a friend had a pretty substaintial collection and I traded them to him for Joes. I regret the trade now, and I considered trying to replace them... if they were to release a new line with identical scale, then it would motivate me more to collect the vintage stuff to display with the new items, if it was a larger sacle (Joe scale), then I don't feel the attachment or need to collect. May sound silly, but its the way I feel... nostalgia is what motivates me the most in my collecting, and it takes more than a name for me to feel a familiararity to a toy line.

The current Joe line like all of the pat is already in the 2.5 inch mask scale at 1/24 scale.

i would be all for a new mask line, after getting matt tracker, i am curious to see how good the rest of the figs would be in a 3 3/4 scale. i dont see hasbro making the vehicles tho, i think the helmets were what made mask cool tho, so the figs would be just fine on their own for me.

I agree about the helmets. And they really took a backseat to the vehicles. But I think there's a lot of potential in the existing parts, all they'd need are new heads and helmets. I'd be really happy just to get the figures.

I'd take it. As long as everything was 3 3/4 I think it would be great for our Joe collection.
I'd keep it minimal though, or perhaps just do 2 vehicles every few months. I really don't want to hunt like I did for 25th! Perhaps even a MOTUC approach, 6 vehicles a year and only online exclusives.....you put that Rhino up for preorder and it might crash the entire internet! |
