I'm still amazed that there are IM2 figures everywhere. I think the only way you could get rid of those would be to give them away for free. Even then I'm not sure stores could get rid of them all.

And again there is a theme..most of the comic stuff is gone..it is the movie figs that hang around.

how many Captain America, Iron Man and Green Lantern figures does one person need?? At least with ROC (hear me out here) You only got a couple of versions of SOME of the characters. The rest of the line was made up of figures that weren't even in the movie to begin with. |

Mattel's biggest issue to me that goes into Green Lantern and Young Justice is that they seem to be still stick in the early 90s. The toys have the least amount of points of articulation they can.
Every other line that is around 3 3/4-4 inch figures aside from them actually seem to try and have the multiple POA G.I.Joe has had for years now. Marvel Universe being a good example. Even stuff like the Assassin's Creed figures have more articulation than Mattel stuff. Honestly though, I think the shelves being clogged with movie toys might be a sign... Not a good sign either... Remember when you could go into an action figure aisle and it would be full of toylines that were cartoon based all over and actually filled the aisle? Now they share the aisle with Bakugan and those other game lines and no longer are there a lot of cartoon based lines either. |

comic-con stuff doesn't make the list because it was more than one line and it is always a disaster any remember Slaughter Gate?

The fact that they are still in abundance shows that they way way over estimated demand for them. I think collectors and kids alike got their fill and there was simply too much left over. Plus the fact that nearly every figure was yet another version of Iron Man didn't help any. From a wave assortment standpoint this was epic fail. Also, the quality control was pretty bad with these as well.

3.DC Universe Classics
With the recent announcement that next years cases will have mom friendly assortments and the Club Infinite Earths dead in the water, it looks like the end for this line. Perhaps if they offered figures that weren’t just put out by DC Direct, they would have had a chance…

Why are there so many MMA figs on the pegs when I go to TRU? Who are buying these? And why do they keep making more? LOL. MMA figs are a perennial failure IMO.
