Four weeks. That's how long I've been hitting the Target by my house, each morning before driving into work. Four Weeks. I missed a week while attending SDCC. No worries because the wife would check every couple of days. Beside that week, I'm at least 10-15 minutes late each day. On the weekend, I would wake up early just to get there at opening time. Do you know why? For the Dr. Strange wave.
So today, I need to get into work at 6:30 a.m. I need to finish something for a meeting. However, I ask the wife and kids to Target. I'm not unreasonable. I ask them to check anytime before 10:00. The Target is 2 miles from the house. Instead, she goes back to school shopping at Wal-mart. "No problem," I think, "It's probably not there." I drive by after work just before I pick up one of my kids from Karate. What's there? Four cases of Wave 14. What's missing? All the Dr. Stranges. All. Of. Them. Someone came in and cleaned out just the Dr. Strange. I had the absolutely crappiest day at work today. I have a coworker mad at me because I misforwarded an email. I have another coworker using my name to undermine a Supervisor. And I have more work than can be done in one day. All that, and I started my day at least 2 hours before my normal day. The one thing that could have made it better was just finding all the figures I was missing. There aren't many people that can understand this minor, yet infinitely rewarding sense of satisfaction. The wife doesn't understand the frustration. But, I'm here just to share my frustration with possibly the only group that can understand. I was incredibly disillusioned today and hope that posting this may help me feel better. What's your happy or sad story of toy collecting? Also, does anyone have both versions of Dr. Strange and a Spider-man Lizard they'd like to trade? I have a regular Archangel, Cable with Hope, and SDCC Zarana variant, I'm willing to give up.

I gave up Hunting.....................I find more stuff by accidentally going to the store. I pay a little more now, but I make up for it in gas savings and lack of frustration.
I have always had some patience, but with MU I'm learning patience pays off big time....In two months Strange may be clogging the pegs....3 months ago Flame on Torch was a $50+ figure..now I see him all the time.

Dude, everywhere in town here Doc Strange is the first and only one gone. It's fucking weird. I ran across one late Saturday night just after a case had been put out (only one Doc, no less) and the variant came from eBay because we never saw that one at all.
I am curious as why Strange is so super scalper friendly at the moment. Skaar, I figured, would be the big one they grabbed.

I really should get into MU, for scalping purposes alone. I lurk the MU thread and I see a lot of figures you guys are desperate to find.
And before you ask......NO I havent seen a Dr Strange, but I will certainly pick him up and move him along for a reasonable price if I see him. |
