Drama aside, the posts following that individual at the other forum are most certainly NOT in favor of this practice. Read on, it's a good time!

the only part of the cardback I really care about is the file card part. would be easier(Or more expensive) if Hasbro made the Filecard seperate from the cardback, but thats that.
I open my figures. I am building a great collection that I use for display and when I get the proper equipment, Diaramas(Which I will share with all of you ) I dont mind card bending, so long as it A: dosent hurt the file card, and B: Dosent damage the figure or his gear(and thanks to Yojoe.com, I keep good track of the gear to anything). if I go to a walmart and find a few Bat's with bent cards, I wouldnt complain However, I cant condone vindictive acts like that just to tick off collectors. Thats just childish and dumb and mean. its their job to sell it to whomever will buy it no matter what. they are not the Soup Nazi. unless it has a actual age limit saying you cant buy this unless your over a certain age, then you cannot deny sale to sombody and you should never ever damage merchandise on purpose.

I dont understand why toys are a huge problem. If companys would just meet the demands of the collectors, and the kids, then everything would be fine. This isnt gasoline, this isnt money, its not an object that would directly change the world if it was not being made. So why do people treet it as such? granted, there is a lot of money to be made with action figures, but unlike an exlcusive item, something thats purpasly made in limited quantitys, these items just go straight to the shelf for everyone to have everywhere. I just dont understand the histeria, and the fighting between employees and collectors. If you work in a retail store be prepared to deal with every kind of person you could imagine. If you dont like it go flip burgers. No need to destroy merchandise. And for collectors, theres no need to go crazy over a toy. As a collector, i understand the frustration of being denied something i really want, but when i go home im still breathing, im still alive, i have food, water, all the things i need to live. And then later on down the line i will get the toy i wanted.
In short: Toy companys need to stop pulling the supply and demand BS. I have been to a toy manufacture, they have millions upon millions of tons of figures the simply dont do anyting with just chilling in bins. Retailers, either deal with the costumers or dont call yourself "retail stores". call yourself "selective selling centers" Collectors, just chill. If your denied something at a store, there are thousands of ways you will be able to find what you want at an affordable price. dont go postal on some dude who could care less if you get what you want or not. 1. Regardless of whether or not it's a "valid point", drama/discussion from other boards does not belong here.
2. Just because someone says they're an employee of "Retail Store X", doesn't make it so. It's the internet. C'mon now. 3. Threads such as this one serve no other purpose than to start a flame fest. Soon we'll have those that feel the need to chime in with "I bend cards!"...then those who are against it. It's a tired debate. If "you" really feel like sharing this info, perhaps contacting the Target store this individual claims to work at and pointing them to the thread would be helpful. |
