I'm just glad they started to separate them rather than the linked ones we were getting.

The comics have them on the top of the hand and the movies made them come out via the knuckles.

The best idea Hasbro made with the XMO line was linking the claws together. Separate, individual claws are just begging to be package raped. I can't count the number horribly twisted claws I've seen on Wolverine figures over the decades.

As for the claws' location, I seem to recall that in the 90's Wolverine's claws did come out of the back of his hands and could pop out correctly no matter how his hands were twisted if you were to trust the cartoon. Now for a more important question: How can a guy with, at best, 12 inch long forearms have claws that extend well past the 12 inch mark? There has to be some allowance for the fact that part of the claw must remain in his hand to properly secure them in place. For that matter if adamantium can cut through anything, how come they don't cut through the backs of his hands and rip out when he cuts through a metal door or just about anything for that matter as most substances are far denser than human skin and would put up far more resistance? |

I thought they did cut up his hands all the time, but the healing factor just deals with it?

Pretty sure they've been drawn as coming out over his knuckles as well as between them. And they do break the skin, I'm guessing most artists just don't want to burn a panel drawing his knuckles all bloody every time they snikt. As far as length, you got me; they can't logically be longer than his forearm IMO.

I've always liked to think of them in the 6-8 inch range. They are oversized knifes, not undersized swords.
Edit:Now that i think about it,all wolverine toys should come with a extra set of non-clawed hands. |

Linked are not too bad, the XMO brown wolvie is a good example.
However with the XMO version from the movie, you have an issue of the fact that the claws spread out from the hand, thus when they are linked they look webbed like a Duck's foot. For where they come out at, The comics are different from the movie, no idea why, since the movie artist have been kind of switching it I noticed a few times. |
